On this day—October 27, 1984 Israel began the covert airlift that would bring 8,000 Ethiopian Jews out of Sudanese refugee camps to their ancestral homeland. Israel saw them face famine, civil war, and persecution, and then acted. It was the first major modern rescue of an ancient Jewish community that had lived in isolation for centuries. Israel is the only country that brought black Africans out of Africa en masse not in chains, but as full citizens.

I’m learning to appreciate premier bendy fingers (Wab’s nickname from his cheating at wrestling days), need to speak French. Now I don’t have to hear the stupid stuff he says. Somehow his ministers mistake or possibly (being scapegoated) for someone else’s mistake, is Trump, Epstein, and now Elon Musks fault. Please! Perhaps Wab could reflect on the position he put that Chief of Bloodvein in, or even his minister? Or on his own assumption that made him think it was okay! It is very clear that he is only about protecting himself and not about making sure to protect others from conflicts of interest, perceptions of conflicts of interests, or legal liability! And every person has a right to legal representation and to access bail. I’m sure his parents helped bail him out with his multiple criminal charges (not ethics violations). This is the second time he insulted the legal system and peoples right to a defence. And family is who helps us no matter what! His dad did it for him, and I’m sure he would if it was his kid or other close kin. Not surprising since he has no respect for rule of law. Kicking his own MLA because his law firm (not him) offered legal representation to someone. Again no surprise because the NDP/union workplace culture past and present thinks bullying people when they are down, ill, or traumatized to get information is just fine! And denying people representation of their choice is just tradition not a right or requirement. Pathetic! Everyone sees him as Hero, with his big talk of encouraging vigilante justice, & burying people under the prison (his words) but it’s not rule of law! It’s violence! And he’s comfortable encouraging violence! I myself feel people who participate in domestic violence should be held accountable. I also think beating up cab drivers should result in doing some time or some sort of action. But that’s not happening and it’s happened three times in the last two months without a word from this government. I wonder why! And I do feel harassing people (women, opponents, those who experienced trauma via political violence by a union, a government official, physician, consultant, employer, or a combination of both should be acknowledged and treated with timely resolution, not delayed or exasperate. Especially when it is clear harm is evident. Alas that’s not the NDP way! And Heather Stephenson was fined, paid her fine, resigned and moved on, that is paying your debt to society and accountability. Wab doesn’t understand this because he’s never been held accountable. Lots of people have taken employment in the USA even a number of doctors and specialists that left here since the NDP took power. It doesn’t make them traitors to find ways to contribute after years of frustration or in Heathers case harassment. And yes Wab leading up to her mistakeshe was a victim of harassment, from the first day she was elected. And endlessly by the leader by the leader of the NDP, and the Liberal leader, and their riled up pitch fork carrying supporters. As was a former NDP cabinet minister who was a woman. Something no male MLA in our legislature past or present would have done to that degree and in that way. That is the current NDPs & former liberal leaders legacy. The complete destruction of any kind of decorum in the house and failure to respect those who came before.

I don’t get why the NDP types need to completely destroy anyone who disagrees with them. Or why they feel the need to attack or use their family or friends to do it! It’s a sick way of thinking and not something a real leader would model!

This is a major vote of confidence in Pierre Poilievre. Cedric Lapointe, the former right hand man of Eric Duhaime - who just won big for the Conservatives in the Quebec election - is moving on to work with Poilievre in Ottawa. journaldequebec.com/2026/10/…

If it walks like a bribe, talks like a bribe, it’s probably a bribe. However having the ethics commissioner investigate it would clear things up pretty quickly! So would releasing the meetings notes as requested!
