If I was the head of product for Sales Navigator, here are 5 things I'd do immediately.
1. Remove the AI messaging suggestions
Every exec reading this agrees, they're NOT responding to those AI-generated messages. Been doing outbound for 10 years, and those suggestions ain't it.
For a platform focused on genuine connections, why isn't the messaging genuine?
If someone doesn't know better, they'll just follow LinkedIn's suggestions. More buyers get frustrated. Less buyers stay on the platform.
Solution here is partner with actual experts who know messaging and give them the keys.
2. Get rid of the home feed
I've had 50+ conversations with enterprise SDRs/AEs. Everyone is saying the same thing. They don't use the home feed at all because it's cluttered, noisy and hard to filter
Even as a power user, I don't use it.
Would be better to remove the feed and invest resources into a 101 on how to start using Sales Nav
3. Add connection strength tracking
LinkedIn knows who messages who and who comments on what. I want to see which connections actually know someone for referrals.
Most people are in the dark when trying to ask for a referrals or see who knows who for a job request.
This data exists, but it's impossible to access. Conversations would be more genuine if this was unlocked.
4. Better tracking and analytics
This would have people jumping for joy.
Imagine a world where Sales Nav can track connection acceptance rates, how many connection request you sent for the week, message response rates by persona, and what content gets responses. Then use that data for automatic persona mapping.
It would all feel like a video game accomplishing daily quests and you would be able to see what works and does not work.
Relationship explorer shouldn't require YOU to build it. Sales Nav should be smart enough to know who responds to your messages and feed you more of what works.
5. Better account mapping with tool integration
More granular account maps that sync with other tools. Ease of integration would be a game-changer.
They have the data. They have the capability.
So all I am asking and I believe everyone else is make it easier for everyone to do their job.
P.S. Am I missing anything here?
P.S.S I would add that more filters that are specific and granular would help.

If you are struggling with your cold-calling approach, borrow this introduction from me.

Out of all your outbound channels:
- Email
- Cold calling
- Social Media DMs
Cold calling is the most controllable outbound strategy.
You get immediate feedback from your prospects.
This means you can iterate faster than any other medium.
Hard to argue with that.
