Wife who doesn't have X has no idea this is going on
Have you considered maybe you are too terminally online
They need to ban gambling advertising just like they did with tobacco. I’ve seen enough.

Yup, gig workers are cooked soon tbh.
What's crazy is that this exact phenomenon is what transitioned people off taxis to Uber in the first place.
Before Uber, dealing with traditional cabs was a minefield of haggling, rigged flat rates, and drivers refusing to run the meter. And in cases where the meter was used, taxi drivers would take the longer or slower route. I once rode a taxi in Italy when the police actually pulled us over and fined our driver for running an off-the-books ride with no meter. Experiences like that built a deep aversion to taxis, to the point where I used to plan my travel to avoid cities that didn't have Uber just to avoid the stress.
These problems went away with Uber, but that lingering long tail has brought us back full circle: Uber has become the taxi, and Waymo the new Uber.
Palmer Luckey says analysts claiming it's too expensive to manufacture in the US are lying to protect megacorps
"I think I have a more realistic view than almost anybody. One of the problems with all these analysts that are telling you that it's going to cost $37,000 to build an American iPhone or $100,000 to buy an American computer."
"They're trying to prop up a status quo that the megacorporations want to keep going. They want to outsource everything. They want to hire cheaper non-American labor."
"They are willing to say and do anything to convince you that it can't be fixed, that it can't come back, that America is this helpless, neutered, post-relevant empire, and it is just not the case."
"How do I know that? Because I have to make stuff in America every day because I work in the defense industry. The stuff that Anduril makes every day is not actually that different from a computer. My drones are basically computers. They have memory, a GPU, a CPU, sensors, batteries, a rugged integration."
"The only difference between an Anduril attack drone and a laptop is a keyboard and a screen. That is not that hard to figure out, especially for a guy like me who started Oculus and comes from the consumer electronics space."
"We're not going to let people lie about what America can and can't do anymore. We're just going to do it."
You actually don’t see this level of discourse on other social media sites.
I took a break from twitter for a while, and I’ve come back to be pleasantly surprised to see auto translate and people from all over the world engaged in discussions with each other.
You don’t see this on Facebook, instagram, and Reddit is full of mentally ill social justice warriors.
Sure twitter may have some slop on it, but there’s a lot of great discussions happening here as well.
Really cool perspective from a Chinese guy.

Kinda ironic when global leaders have to all hop on their jets to attend a conference on climate change. Can’t they just use zoom or something?

I hate to FUD, but what @opensea is doing is ridiculous.
There are five years of rich on-chain history — real, organic activity. Collecting. Flipping. Trading. Whatever.
If you want to do an airdrop, that’s the data you should use to assess merit — not this obviously farmed wash-trading nonsense.
Did we learn nothing from @blur_io?
I’ve defended OpenSea for a long time. They are a web2-style company with the best product in market. But they were slow to innovate — and resorting to this kind of stunt is just sad.
Sorry. Tired of seeing posts about chests and other nonsense. Pathetic.

cool convo from few days ago: most ppl don’t realize that unlike girl group dynamics of subtle hierarchies male friend groups often function more like role based ecosystems. in real friendship groups nobody’s ever really jockeying for alpha status. instead the group coherence depends on everyone leaning into their strengths.
the funny guy, the planner, the driver, the chaos agent, the diplomat, etc. each role contributes to the vibe. when circumstance shifts (road trip vs breakup vs night out), the leader shifts too, dude leadership is situational not fixed.
thoughts?
