They're is no end to the things they will tax.
🚨 INSANE: French lawmakers just voted to tax INTERNET DATA. The proposed tax is €0.055 per GB. • Download a 100GB game: €5.50 • Stream 20GB of Netflix: €1.10 • Access 1TB of your own cloud files: €55 Big Tech pays on paper. Guess who could end up paying in reality? Europe is becoming an economic museum run by tax collectors. They can’t compete with the future, so they’ll just tax everything that makes it possible.

If you are wondering about the somewhat muted price impact to Bitcoin after last night's Binance hack, for reference, the MT Gox hack of 2014 was ~750K Bitcoin, which was about 30 days of trading volume at the time. Yesterday's Binance hack was 18,270 Bitcoin, or roughly 1/5th of a single day of Bitcoin's trading volume today, making Mt Gox ~167X worse for price impact.

What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

THIS IS INSANE!!! A San Francisco startup says it just turned mercury into real gold. The company is Marathon Fusion. This week they announced they'd made stable gold using fusion neutrons, at 10x the record CERN set in 2025. CERN's record was 29 picograms over four years. So nobody's pouring bars yet. The method is what got me. You hit mercury-198 with a fusion neutron. It loses a neutron, becomes mercury-197, and over the next few days decays into gold-197. The exact same gold sitting in central bank vaults. Their 2025 paper says a one-gigawatt fusion plant built this way could make around 2 tonnes of gold a year as a side product, while it's selling electricity. I've said it for years. Gold is a shiny rock. It's valuable because there's only so much of it and pulling it out of the ground is hard and expensive. If this holds up, gold's scarcity turns into an engineering problem. And you can only delay technical progress. You can't stop it. To be fair, the gold comes out mixed with radioactive isotopes and would need to sit for well over a decade before it's safe to touch. Nobody outside the company has verified the result yet, and commercial fusion is still years away. Peter Schiff has spent years telling everyone Bitcoin has no intrinsic value. This week a startup says it made gold out of mercury. There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin. No reactor on Earth can make one more.

BTC bottomed near $57k in July after a ~54% drawdown from the Oct 2025 ATH of $126k. It's now around $82k with neutral sentiment. Most on-chain and cycle analyses say the low is in and the bear is over. Per your chart, we're past despair/bottom fishing into early accumulation or trend emergence/momentum building. Early bull stage, not FOMO or euphoria yet. Cycles are maturing with shallower moves.

Labour’s announcement to ban social media for under 16 year olds is a naive solution to a genuine issue. Throwing out simplistic sound bites denies the reality that banning social media in its entirety means either banning VPNs or using digital ID for everyone - otherwise it’s a fools errand and meaningless. The failure in Australia to implement such laws highlights this and Labour knows it. Everyone with children wants them protected from the harms of social media, but the threat of everyone needing to lose privacy and freedoms to enable that to happen is what Labour needs to explain to kiwis. Ultimately we need to ask ourselves as a country how far we want the government to overreach into the responsibilities of parents, but most importantly the rights of parents. If we start down this innocent pathway it will become very slippery and won’t stop. Election period promises that sound good should not hide the serious nature of the solution, nor of the seriousness of the problem we all agree should be addressed. PS Between 2020-2023 what did Labour ever do about the problem they are now promising to solve.

BREAKING: Banks are taking back more homes. Lenders repossessed 5,794 homes in August, up 42% from a year ago and 22% from July, per ATTOM. That’s far faster than the 13% rise in overall foreclosure filings, meaning more distressed homeowners are reaching the end of the process.

If you knew this about Bitcoin, I bet you would start caring about it. Current Bitcoin computing power is 978 exahashes per second. That is Bitcoin’s hashrate. In simpler terms, that means the Bitcoin network is doing 978 quintillion calculations *per second*. There is no other computer network on Planet Earth that even comes close to that level of power. To put this in perspective, since the Big Bang supposedly happened, 435.5 quadrillion seconds have passed. 978 quintillion calculations is 2,246 times that number. In other words, Bitcoin performs more calculations *every second* than the total number of seconds that have passed in the entire universe’s existence, times 2,246. And that doesn’t even capture the growth of the Bitcoin network. In 2013, only four years into Bitcoin’s lifespan, global Bitcoin computing power was 256 times faster than the world’s top 500 supercomputers combined. In just 13 years since then, the computing power of the Bitcoin network has grown by over 209,000 times. That would be like the human population going from 8 billion people to 1.68 quadrillion people in a little over a decade. To put that in perspective, 8 billion seconds ago was the year 1773. 1.68 quadrillion seconds ago was 53,233,962 BC. If Bitcoin’s computing power has grown by over 209,000 times in 13 years, and that growth rate is the equivalent of going from 53,000,000 BC to 1773 AD, one could say that the Bitcoin network has advanced over 53 million years in a little over a decade. Such a level of growth is a strong indicator of intelligence. Do with this what you will.

🚨 The City of London Will Trigger the Next U.S. Bond Meltdown The petrodollar system is entering its most dangerous chapter. For 50 years the petrodollar system forced the world to buy oil in U.S. dollars, then recycle those dollars into U.S. Treasuries and assets. That artificial demand is what kept the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Gulf States (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, etc.) suddenly cannot sell their oil at scale. No oil sales = no revenue. Saudi Arabia recorded ZERO Oil sale to America in September for the first time ever. But this exact petrodollar choke could collapse the U.S. Treasuries. These same Gulf States are massively leveraged. They’ve borrowed heavily from Western banks to fund megaprojects, sovereign wealth plays, and lifestyle. When the oil money stops, they default. Those defaults cascade straight into the global banking system and the epicenter is the City of London, the old petrodollar recycling hub where the big players (and their interconnected exposures) sit. One major default wave and the British banking system lights up like 2008 on steroids. City of London is cashing in on the Hormuz crisis. Spiking war-risk insurance at Lloyd’s, higher trading fees, Gulf loan pressures & yield surges all flow through the Square Mile. For 118 years since Britain stole Iran’s oil in 1908 and created BP, every Iranian government (the Shah and the Ayatollahs) has answered to the same master: the British City of London financial empire. The City of London isn’t just a place, it’s the invisible hand that owns the oil empires, rigs the money printers, and pulls the strings of EVERY central bank on Earth. Even the “independent” Federal Reserve? Quietly owned and influenced by London’s banking cabal. Trump basically admitted it when Jerome Powell was running the show, the Fed was never America’s. Foreign nations including Netherlands, France and Germany pulled out over 500 Tonnes of Gold OUT of the U.S. and storing it in the City of London. In response, the U.S. Treasury is more than doubling the size of its own long-dated bond buybacks to at least $6 billion per operation. The pattern is deliberate. City of London institutions and the interconnected financial architecture they dominate sit in position to influence energy chokepoints, credit flows, and the recycling of petrodollars. This was exactly warned by the famous City of London Banker @LordBelgrave at the start of the year. The crash is coming. The reset is real. And Trump is the one lighting the match.
