🚨 BREAKING NEWS: JESÚS OWONO ARRESTED AND PLACED IN POLICE CUSTODY FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF JESÚS DE MIGUEL.
Spanish National Police have launched a homicide investigation following the tragic death of CD Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel, who died after a horrific on-field collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono.
Multiple Spanish media outlets, including Europa Press, El País and laSexta, have confirmed that the National Police’s Homicide Unit in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The case has now been placed under judicial supervision, with prosecutors also opening preliminary proceedings to establish whether any responsibility beyond sporting disciplinary matters could arise.
Investigators are expected to examine the referee’s report, medical documentation and the circumstances surrounding the collision that left De Miguel fighting for his life before his tragic passing.
Owono, who was sent off during the match, has found himself at the centre of the investigation. However, there is currently no confirmed report of his arrest or detention.
The goalkeeper is reportedly being held in police custody for further investigation and questioning as authorities seek to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal on-field collision.
Owono remains in police custody pending further investigation and questioning.

Zuma Claims He Could Soon Be Arrested, Says He Is Not Afraid of Jail
MK Party president Jacob Zuma has told supporters that he believes he could soon be arrested but insists he is not afraid of returning to prison.
Speaking at the uMkhonto weSizwe Party’s (MK Party) final election rally at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, eThekwini, on Sunday, Zuma addressed concerns about a possible arrest ahead of Wednesday’s local government elections.
“Don’t worry about that, and don’t be scared. There is nothing,” Zuma told supporters, referring to his previous imprisonment at Estcourt Correctional Centre in 2021.
However, he did not provide details of the alleged threat, and neither the South African Police Service (SAPS) nor the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed any plans to arrest him.
The 84-year-old also made his first major public appearance since being discharged from a Pietermaritzburg hospital last month, where he spent about 11 days receiving treatment after falling ill while campaigning.
Downplaying his illness, Zuma assured supporters that he was well.
He also criticised the Government of National Unity, called for unity among black South Africans and urged voters to support the MK Party in Wednesday’s elections.
Zuma previously served a 15-month prison sentence for contempt of court after refusing to comply with a Constitutional Court order to appear before the State Capture Commission. His imprisonment in July 2021 triggered widespread unrest in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
He also faces a long-running corruption case linked to the arms deal, with the trial expected to begin in 2027. @afriforum – at Onverwacht, South Africa

‼️Former FIFA referee, Victor Hlungwani, confirms on SABC that all 3 goals scored by Orlando Pirates were ONSIDE!
Mbuthuma ✅Moremi ✅ Appollis✅ Selepe should’ve been red-carded 🟥and Miguel’s red card ✅‼️#SowetoDerby
Yes, goal 1 was Yanela Mbuthuma's at 24' (deflected past Petersen). Videos of it are circulating on X from SABC Sport and match highlights.
Multiple angles and post-match comments (including Chiefs coach Da Cruz) flag it as marginal/offside on the long ball. No VAR, so it stood. The second goal also involved beating the high line. – at Onverwacht, South Africa
Hey @grok , this is goal number two by Orlando Pirates, is there another video showing goal1, i want to see is it was also off side.
