This is a big threat to the touchHLE project and all emulators and software preservation projects on Android more generally. Please do what you can to push back against this, while you still can.

🛑 Important: Google is locking down Android. Starting Sept 2026, every app — even outside the Play Store — must come from a verified developer. No more anonymous sideloads. No quick comebacks for malware gangs. First up: Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand. Full story ↓ thehackernews.com/2025/08/go…

New addition to the touchHLE copyright policy:
Because large language models have most likely "seen" things during their training process that would break these rules, and because they are impossible to audit, ⚠️ use of AI assistants or AI code generation like ChatGPT, Copilot or similar is also forbidden.

This is a casual reminder that no one of actual #touchHLE developers are having Telegram channels about #touchHLE. Anyone claiming so is an imposter. Don't believe anything they claim.

The touchHLE app compatibility database now has a table summarising how many apps have each compatibility rating. We're very close to having 150 apps with at least three-star compatibility!
Screenshot: touchHLE.org > touchHLE app compatibility database Apps Legend/Stats # of apps Rating Description 243 ⭐️ Completely broken: app crashes immediately without any user interaction. 54 ⭐️⭐️ Only (part of) the main menu, intro or similar is working. 24 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some of the main content of the app works, but with major issues. 32 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The main content of the app works (e.g. entire game is playable) with only small issues. 93 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Everything works. The app is fully usable.

A new project is trying to preserve click-wheel iPod games appleinsider.com/articles/24… #Apple

Gaming on the iPod barely predates the iPhone's arrival in 2007, but fans have launched a project to be sure they can still play the games into the future.

The touchHLE website has been redesigned. Sadly, it is no longer built using Dashcode, but the new design is a lot more practical.

There is no official Telegram channel for touchHLE and never has been. I (hikari_no_yume) am not on Telegram. There are some people on there who want to impersonate us (the project/developers) and harm our image by posting horrible images and harassing people.

I was expecting this would happen within a year of the initial release, but it seems it took longer. keeping up constant progress isn't easy. slowly but surely we're getting more and more games working, though! ~ hikari_no_yume
