As today is All Hallows Eve and the sun was shining, I took Fluffy out to visit the place where his dad and all the other little ones who've left us over the years are buried. 🌈
He was a really good boy and behaved perfectly. Just as he always does when we visit the hill.
He knows it's a special place.
We were there for a while, thinking about his dad.
And I recounted tales of his adventures and asked Fluff if he remembered him.
Then little boy had a wash and, as he always does when we go for a walk, a quiet snooze. Enjoying what's probably the very last warmth of the sun before the depth of winter.
But before we went indoors, in memory of all the little souls from the sanctuary who've left us, I recited to Fluff my bunny version of the Norse prayer ~
"Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers.
Lo, there do I see the line of my kin,
Back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them,
Upon the sunlit fields of another realm.
Where the innocent may dwell forever."
Tonight, on the eve of Samhain, All Hallows Eve, amongst the spooky fun and celebrations, please remember what it's about, folks.
It's Celtic origin, it's true meaning.
Reflect upon on the ones you've loved and lost throughout the years. Remember them.
And all those many generations who went before us.
Happy Halloween, everyone. 🐰❤️
Should just mention.
My earlier 'Werebun' post has made one individual so deeply angry he's now blocked me.
😱
Hi, Folks.
Maybe one of you out there might be able to help me.
I have been trying for years to acquire a copy of this very rare 1859 publication and have never actually seen one, let alone been able to find one for sale.
From what I understand there was only ever a single run of a mere 500 copies ever printed, so they're all first editions.
If by chance anyone should have one or stumble across one, regardless of condition, please let me know.
Happy Halloween, everyone. 👻🎃😄

Come on bunny lovers, wherever you are.
Let's make this happen for the little ones !
To all of you out there who care about rabbits !
This is a call to action.
Please help and sign this petition.
It's desperately important !
It's a petition to help the thousands of formerly domestic rabbits running wild for the past 80 years on Okunoshima Island, in Takehara, Hiroshima.
The island is part of the Setonaikai National Park.
Hundreds of thousands of people visit "Rabbit Island" every year and the Japanese Ministry of the Environment data clearly shows that about 90% come to meet and feed the rabbits.
Yet many of these rabbits needlessly die young, after suffering from injuries and illness.
The city and the Ministry already count sick and injured rabbits. But as yet there's no public system existing to provide them with veterinary treatment.
...........................................................................................................
To the Mayor of Takehara City and the Ministry of the Environment:
Please use the Visitor Tax to Protect Sick and Injured Rabbits on Okunoshima Island and provide them with all necessary veterinary care & ensure they're all spayed or neutered.

Shandy is back in her favourite place ~ the feed room.
She's always a perfect girl, so I've left her in there to play and explore on her own for an hour, while I'm next door, trying to repair the washing machine.
It only took her a couple of minutes to begin burrowing a nest. 😊
Pet human has got to drive to the city tomorrow and will be away for around 8 or 9 hours.
Pixie boy has promised during that time he'll be the brave lion king.
He's going to regularly patrol from one end of my bed to the other, at least twice while I'm gone ~ because, as usual, he needs to sleep a lot. 😜

Little Prince is pleased because human dad says he's a tough boy, coz he slept through the whole thing'.
On the way back from the vet trip on Sunday we were hit by a large piece of metal from a truck travelling in the opposite direction, carrying scrap. It hit the car behind it and bounced, launching it straight into our windscreen at a combined speed of what I'd guess was around 140/kmh.
The bun travel cases strapped down alongside me were showered with splintered glass and so was I.
Prince slept through the whole incident 🤣 and the other three were completely unperturbed, relaxing, taking it all in their stride.
I's just fortunate that I always ensure to cover them with a blanket so the buns feel comfy and safe. It sure saved a load of glass exploding through the vents of the cases and raining all over them...
And then they all slept all the way home. 🤣
Brave little bunnies. 🐰🐰🐰🐰😊
In memory of Bon-Bon, a little bun I rescued yesterday afternoon.
Yesterday I had intended to post a thank you to everyone for all your love and help with the latest bunny appeal.
Thank you all so much !
But following an emergency phone call from a staff member of a pet shop in one of the local towns, I sped off to pick up this little bun who I instantly named Bon-Bon.
Sadly, after a sleepless night trying to save him/her (I'm not sure as little one was too ill to be examined and I do not feel it's appropriate to check now) little soul departed this word around 50 minutes ago.
After rallying for a couple of hours during the night, little bun began slipping backwards, sliding towards semi-consciousness and the rainbow gate.
This is the price of uncaring, greedy breeders and indifferent 'pet' stores. This little bun had, unbeknown to me, been in the shop for nearly two weeks, each day gradually losing the will to live and losing weight.
Little soul was way, way to young to have been taken from his/her mother. Although he/she might've been nibbling solid foods, I feel sure mother's milk was still a critical factor in developing healthily and to prepare for adult life.
This should not have happened. It's wrong, seriously wrong. And if I had my way, those responsible for force breeding for financial gain, and the uncaring owners of the companies complicit in this slave trade would be behind bars... for a very long time.
Tiny boy, eldest bunny and avatar of the sanctuary wishes you all a...
Happy International Rabbit Day !

Hello, everyone.
Would it be possible for some of you to help several of the buns here, please ?
There's 14 buns here at the moment who're in need of various treatments, the majority dental examinations and tooth corrections. Five of them now being urgent.
In addition, Mousey boy needs further examinations and medications for his deteriorating heart condition. I'm very worried about him.
Also, Smudge-Fudge has developed a small mass near his genital region and is due to see the vet on Saturday.
Also one of my eldest girls, Starlight, is snuffling a lot and needs attention. My experience tells me it's rhinitis or maybe dacryocystitis. Either way she needs a full medical examination and I suspect, antibiotic eye drops, together with an oral course of antibiotics.
Please help them if you can.
I need to raise around a further 950 Euros to cover all their treatments.
Any help you can give would be deeply appreciated.

For those who cannot afford to help, but care about these little souls, please repost this appeal and spread it as far and wide as possible.
I can't keep the sanctuary running without you all.
Thank you. ❤️
