The Blackhawks conversation has shifted to comparing our current rebuild to the hawks rebuild in the early 2000s and I think everyone is missing the mark.
In the early 2000s, the physicality was through the roof. It was a war zone out there. Skill guys who got drafted had to find their gritty game quick or they would get stuck playing with fear of getting hit.
The league now is much softer. There’s still lots of physicality but most of that is the 3rd and 4th liners.
Our current roster resembles the Canes roster with smaller guys but the canes have established their identity. They play fast man on man and don’t let you breath with the puck. Kind of like being a QB in the nfl, you gotta get the ball/puck moved in under 3 seconds.
Last season, the first 20 games we looked awesome on breakouts and transitioned well into the ozone. Players played decent positional hockey.
We let go of all our veteran forwards who had that awareness and left no one to teach these young guys how to move the puck.
I really hope Davidson brings in an experienced winger or D to show our guys these simple fundamentals.
Everyone saying Soderblom sucks, but ex-Blackhawk Brossoit is on a 3 game heater with a 3.68 GAA because he plays with a competent offense.
Blashill unfortunately won’t get fired tomorrow because we have Carolina on Saturday but after that we have 4 days off.
I expect the Blackhawks to have a new head coach by next Thursday when we play Buffalo.
Not an interim….new.
Ryan Reaves said it best on the TNT panel tonight.
Someone needs to speak up in the Blackhawks locker room and try to reset a standard while Blash is still coaching.
Until then, we will keep getting pumped.
Fowler looked like Carey price for 58 minutes and then turned into Tristan Jarry for the last 2 minutes😂
The Blackhawks are the prime time game on TNT tomorrow against the panthers.
Can’t wait for Biz and the boys to dismantle Chicago and get blashill fired.
I hate being a hater of the team that was my childhood, but I’ve never seen a team lack more accountability than this current hawks roster.
11/4/26 will be a day to remember.
Nazar will literally have 10 back to back brutal shifts and then 1 shift where he looks like Mcdavid😂
I didn’t watch yesterday’s hawks game but I saw the highlights and one glaring thing stood out.
The shots on goal.
Fantastic number.
The problem is that should be the easiest thing to teach a younger roster.
Throwing shots at the net will put players in better positions and force them to fight for more pucks.
What’s sad is that blashill had to wait 15 games to tell the boys, “pucks on net!”
Let’s see what Mondays game looks like.

As much as I’d love the Blackhawks to trade Nazar for Tippett, that won’t fix our issues.
No one is playing to their full potential and that’s a blatant coaching issue.
Blash needs to go.
The Blackhawks need a head coach who has energy and can shoot the shit with the boys.
Young players don’t know how to play serious hockey. They just want to fly around and rip pucks.
Blashill’s system is ruining all these players development and it’s just brutal boring hockey.
None of the head coaches that are available are super high energy guys, but if I had to choose a replacement I’d go with Bruce Cassidy. He has a cup. He knows how to handle a locker room. When he got let go by the knights, the underlying stats were not bad. Torts didn’t do anything magical in their finals run.
Cassidy can save this team. We have tons of skill but no one is having fun and there’s no accountability.
I don’t want to run through a wall after hearing this. A young team needs an energetic head coach. Let the guys have fun.
I remember the swagger Byram played with in Colorado. Then he got the chip on his shoulder after being delt to Buffalo. Unfortunately, he got humbled quick because dahlin is the top guy there. I still believe in Byram but he needs to be training with Quinn Hughes in the offseason to see what a real offensive defenseman looks like.
I’ve wanted Tippett to Chicago to start last year. Dude plays with a swagger unlike anyone in Chicago and he’s not afraid to get physical. I can see him coming into the hawks locker room and immediately having an impact on the entire roster.
I’m happy to deal Nazar in return. He’ll probably pop off in Philly and have a chip on his shoulder because he was drafted as a cornerstone piece for the rebuild.
I don’t see Tippett having that same chip on the shoulder but I don’t see him losing any swagger coming to a franchise like Chicago.
