The "Freezer Mom" Mitchelle Blair tortured and killed her own two children - aged 9 and 13 - with boiling water, beatings and suffocation. Stacked their bodies in a chest freezer and lived there with her surviving kids for two years. Eviction officers came for unpaid rent in 2015, opened the freezer and found them. In court she called them "demons" and said she would do it again.
In the video below, Blair sits down for a jailhouse interview - and what comes back is something the interviewer visibly struggles to process.
Asked how she slept at night with two bodies in her freezer.
She said she slept well.
Asked if she felt any remorse.
She said she would kill them again.
She told the interviewer there were no other options. No excuses. No mental illness. She wasn't playing crazy. She claimed the children she killed had s*xually abused her younger child - but prosecutors said there was no evidence of that. It didn't matter to her. She had decided what they were and acted accordingly.
When asked if she had considered turning herself in she said her surviving son told her not to. And after what she'd done for him - she wasn't about to.
She called it justice. She called them demons. She said she'd do it all over again.
Life in prison with no possibility of parole.
Was Mitchelle Blair a mother who convinced herself she was protecting her family, or did she simply find a justification for something far darker than protection?

this is literally what sold me on Kyle Fletcher. Him hating Ospreay so much that he refused to hear the crowd chant his name. That’s when I knew Fletcher was IT.
Zachary Davis was 15 years old. At 11pm he walked to his garage, picked up a sledgehammer, went to his mother's bedroom and hit her 20 times in the head while she slept. Witnesses said he was smiling while he did it. Then he walked out of the house and set it on fire with his older brother still inside.
When asked why he chose that specific night he said: "I thought it was a good time."
In the video below, Zachary sits across from an interviewer and describes every detail of that night - sometimes with a strange smile on his face.
He said his mind was "pretty much blank" when he opened the door. He remembered standing there with the sledgehammer in one hand and his hand on the doorknob with the other. He went in.
The interviewer asked what it sounded like.
He said there was a thudding sound.
He hit her a second time just a few seconds later. She woke up mid-attack and started seizing. He looked into her eyes. She didn't look back at him.
He kept going.
His reason: she wasn't taking care of the family. The interviewer asked if he had considered just talking to her instead. He said the thought hadn't crossed his mind.
No rage. No panic. No hesitation in the retelling. Just a teenager describing the night he killed his mother the same way most people describe what they had for dinner.
And that smile that kept coming back.
Was this a child failed by every system around him, or something that no system could have predicted or stopped?
The child’s mother had recently been evicted from her home. She then suddenly relocated to Georgia and abandoned the child without any notice or communication for months.
One random day she showed up at the child’s school trying to pick the child up and take them out of state. The father was able to get the child first.
The mother and her father then contacted the local police with false allegations that the father had kidnapped the child. At the same time, there was an ongoing DCF investigation led by an investigator who had already observed the filthy conditions the child had been living in and the domestic violence involved. The investigator specifically advised the father not to relinquish the child until further notice.
The father communicated this to his attorneys, confirmed everything was proper, and the necessary motions were filed.
