ONE YEAR AGO: Today is a big day in the life of the Alabama Weather Network . We will have been streaming 24/7 for one year. It is our anniversary. The Alabama Weather Network is the first statewide weather network in the country. The very first. That is what makes this accomplishment even more amazing. We have established quite a standard in the industry. We are a 24/7 operation that goes live whenever there is a high impact weather event anywhere in Alabama. At any time. And we stay on the air until that threat ends, serving 100% of our fellow citizens with the best weather coverage. It doesn't matter if you live in a large city or way out in the country. TV market, NWS warning area... it doesn't matter. We've got your back. We have the largest weather team (meteorologists+chasers) in the state by far, and also the largest SKYCAM network. We engage viewers with cutting-edge drone coverage from chasers in the field providing critical on-the-ground live video of the storms. And an unsurpassed social media army (YOU!) that supplies pictures and videos from all over the state. An incredible number of people now get all their weather information from the Alabama Weather Network app, which is considered one of the best apps in the weather industry. It is interesting to note that the weather has been relatively quiet over the past 12 months, but we have certainly had some severe thunderstorm, tornado, and winter storm events to deal with. Just know that when the weather does become active and dangerous, we will always be here for you. We know the state better than anyone else, and it is our honor to serve. For me, this is living a dream. Thank you for trusting us.
