90% of the criticism gen2 gets comes from people not understanding that this game wasn’t designed as an endless iteration of the series like the games starting from gen3 were. every 'weird' decision you see in GSC makes sense once you understand it’s a direct follow up to RBJ

one of my favorite episodes of all time is episode 5 of Hidamari Sketch with Yuno coming down with a fever and having weird dreams for 20 minutes
studio shaft at its best
people keep bringing up the level curve when discussing Pokémon Gen 2's "problems", but its pretty mediocre dungeon design (especially compared to RBY) is a much bigger issue that barely gets talked about

watched Tenshi ni Narumon on a whim and was surprised by how unique its comedy is while also having a more serious side exploring themes like love and unconventional relationships
it has quite a few talented directors involved, like Nishikiori, Igarashi (👑), and even Hosoda
@OmarAS95 i was wondering if you might know who directed the opening, i really like it and i'm curious lol
