I’ve been working on a dream project of mine for the last couple of months. I’ve only whispered about it to a few close friends and some awesome folks like @tropicalvirtual and @tjthecreator_. I’m finally at a point where I feel comfortable showing you guys a little preview. This game pays homage to one of my absolute favorite games growing up, Twisted Metal—but with a special twist of its own. This isn’t meant to be a copy. I’m taking the things I loved about those classic car-combat games and building something that feels personal to me. So far, the game has 10 playable vehicles that I’ve meticulously modeled and textured. I also built a quick city inspired by my hometown of San Francisco so I could start testing the in-game mechanics and finally see how these vehicles look and feel in action. Every car in the game has a special place in my heart for one reason or another. The roster is a mix of iconic cars from pop culture, some of my personal favorites, and a few vehicles chosen by close friends who I’m featuring in the game. One of the coolest parts of this project has been seeing what’s possible when AI is actually used as a creative tool. By working with @AnthropicAI’s Claude and @OpenAI’s ChatGPT, I’ve been able to fill in the gaps in areas where I’m not traditionally a developer and really harness the power of AI to help bring this idea to life. That extends beyond development, too. Using @elevenlabsio, Claude helped me develop and refine the prompts I used to generate every sound you hear in the game. I’ve been able to combine my experience in art, design, 3D, and creative direction with AI-assisted development and sound design to build something I honestly wouldn’t have been able to approach this way just a few years ago. And this is where @OthersideMeta comes into the bigger picture. One of my goals is to eventually translate this game and its mechanics into an experience that can actually be played on my Otherdeeds inside the Otherside metaverse. Instead of these lands just being something I own, I love the idea of building an actual game around them—something my friends and the community can jump into, drive around, battle, and experience together. There’s still a lot more I want to build, polish, and experiment with, but seeing everything actually running together for the first time has been surreal. This is just the beginning. 👀
