“My mindset is to continue where I left off last year, showcase the improvements I’ve made to my game for this year, and display pure dominance to the best of my ability.”

“From a team perspective, it’s about winning one possession at a time. As long as we know we can outperform the team in front of us in every aspect of the game, we believe we’ll achieve our goals for this season.”

I recently caught up with 6’6” SF Brandon Laryea, who suited up for UNB in the AUS last season. Now in his first professional season with KS Tirana, Laryea shared what the transition from U SPORTS to professional basketball has been like so far: @BrandonLaryea @UNBAthletics

“The people close to me know that going pro wasn’t something I was always sure about. The first month was tough, being away from family and friends and experiencing a preseason unlike anything I’d done before. But I stuck with it, and now I’m really enjoying it.”

“I’m grateful to everyone who helped me get here, especially the staff at Storm, UNB, my old teammates, my agency, my Canadian family and KS Tirana for taking a chance on me. For anyone who’s able to go pro, I’d definitely recommend taking the opportunity!”

“Making that jump was a goal of mine. I’m glad to be here … played point guard all of last year trying to mature as a player and maximize what I can bring to a team. This year I just want to keep growing into myself and be a player my coach trusts to help win games every week.”
