$GARLIC is now live. CA: 9QmgZaEyayczYTG6xVEijrsYbu7iB6u2oJBKZDsTdhwZ we have built the first way to put an end to vamps and the constant PvP between competing coins. Garlic is the first anti-vamp launchpad, where coins can change their name, ticker, and image on-chain without ever launching a new token. instead of locking metadata at launch, Garlic retains the Metaplex update authority, allowing every coin to evolve its identity as new narratives emerge. every coin supports two modes: creator mode: creators can change their coin's name, ticker, and image whenever they want, with each update recorded on-chain. holder voting: holders propose and vote on new identities, with voting power weighted by token balances. the winning proposal becomes the coin's new identity. someone launches a better ticker? adopt it. a new narrative takes over? change with it. one coin, unlimited identities. launch at trygarlic.fun/

everything is now working as intended. there was a small parsing bug that caused some metadata updates to fail during the signing process, but this has now been fixed. recorded a short demo video showing how you can change a coin's name, ticker, and image in real time, directly on-chain. you can try it yourself at trygarlic.fun/

Oops, looks like that was actually a bug. Fixing now.

there are two different modes for changing a coin's name, ticker, and image on Garlic. creator mode: only the wallet that originally launched the coin can authorize metadata changes. you need to connect the same wallet and sign a message to update the coin's identity. holder voting: instead of relying on the original creator, holders can propose new names, tickers, and images and vote on which identity the coin should adopt next. voting power is weighted by token balances. if you're using creator mode, make sure you're connected with the original launch wallet.

experiment with things. so much of the PvP and vamping in the trenches comes from dozens of coins launching around the same narrative, splitting attention between different names and tickers. we think the ceiling for individual coins could be significantly higher if people could simply change their metadata instead of launching another token every time a better name comes along. as more attention grows around Garlic, we want to see people experimenting with narratives that wouldn't have been possible on traditional launchpads. there's a lot more you can do with a coin when its identity isn't permanent.
okay so this is a new launchpad which basically lets you launch tokens with update authority enabled. (only possible through @MeteoraEco) this means that you can update a token's metadata (name, ticker, image) after the coin is live. this made me think of a genius narrative. no one knows what the GTA 6 currency is going to be called yet, and there's been endless PvP between coins trying to guess the name. launching on trygarlic.fun with holder voting enabled means holders can vote and change the name whenever the news drops. this should have a crazy ceiling imo, especially paired with $TTWO. the tech works too.

I don't see why anyone would want to launch elsewhere when so much of the PvP in the trenches comes from coins competing over the exact same narrative. look at what happened with the Dacity coin. nobody could agree on the right name or ticker, so hundreds of different coins launched around the same idea, all competing for the same attention. that entire situation could have played out differently on trygarlic.fun. think about how much higher the ceiling could be for individual coins if traders weren't constantly splitting their attention and capital between dozens of competing versions of the same narrative. the whole point is to give existing coins a chance to evolve instead of forcing everyone to start over whenever a better ticker appears.

We need everyone's support to make the trenches a better place and put an end to the constant PvP and vamping that happens every day. on @pumpfun, token metadata is locked at launch, meaning there's no way to change a coin's name, ticker, or image once it has launched. Garlic uses @MeteoraAG, which allows us to retain the Metaplex update authority and change a coin's metadata directly on-chain. none of this will make a difference unless people actually start choosing to launch their coins here instead of on platforms where metadata is permanently locked. we've built the alternative. now we need your support to make it the new standard. trygarlic.fun/

Launch doesn't let you change a coin's name, ticker, or image after it's launched. this is only possible with Metaplex update authority, which @MeteoraAG's Dynamic Bonding Curve supports. without that update authority, changing a coin's metadata on-chain is impossible.

isnt this just launch

you can try the tech for yourself. every coin launched through Garlic has mutable metadata, with the Metaplex update authority retained by our launchpad. the update authority is what allows a token's name, ticker, and image to be changed on-chain after launch, something most launchpads permanently disable.

When a coin changes its name, ticker, or image, the update is written directly on-chain and takes effect as soon as the transaction is confirmed. however, trading terminals like (Axiom, Terminal, Photon, etc.) and other platforms often cache token metadata, meaning they may continue displaying the previous name, ticker, or image until their data refreshes. this can take some time depending on the platform, but it doesn't mean the update hasn't gone through. you can verify the change immediately on Solscan by checking the token's updated metadata and the corresponding on-chain transaction.

You can launch your coin on Garlic with two different modes that determine how its name, ticker, and image can change over time. creator mode: the person who launches the coin has control over its identity. at any point, they can choose a new name, ticker, or image and authorize the change by signing a message with their wallet. holder voting: instead of giving the creator control, holders decide what the coin becomes next. any holder can propose a new name, ticker, and image, and other holders can vote on the proposals. votes are weighted by token balances when the voting round closes, and the proposal with the most voting power becomes the coin's new identity. both modes allow unlimited metadata changes, and coins can switch between them at any time. one coin, unlimited identities. trygarlic.fun/
