TD Bank analyst says that $HR.UN's CEO Tom Hofstedter is giving himself & family an implied value of $31/unit v. $12 for everyone else. Didn't realize was that bad. Sounds corrupt. Gowanus was supposed to be sold per Q1 call. Sounds like theft. 🇨🇦 securities laws are very weak.
$Hr.un short interest is very low into next weeks vote which many market participants expect to be vehemently rejected. Tom Hofstedter and his son-in-law Eric Weiss, a stealth insider who hid 11 million unit ownership are attempting the most obviously unethical deal ever.

$NOMD out with a reversal in revenue decline for the first time since 2024. Flat is probably good. Insiders bought 4% of company themselves YTD and on the last investor conference said they would take it private if multiple stays in the doldrums.
$NOMD insider buying after today is closer to ~$30 million worth or 2.1% of all equity. Nomad trades at half the mutiple of nearest peer because of elevated leverage but if they can fix that... perhaps they will. Food cos are likely the most hated sector on the market.
$KHC results better then expected. They announce the sale of their coffee division which includes Maxwell House. Long with a small position alongside Warren Buffet.

Even though it looks like 99% chance the $HR.UN deal is defeated on Nov. 13 vote, what's to stop $GO.U insiders like Alfred Teo (a billionaire convicted of insider trading/fraud) from accumulating H&R ahead of vote to potentially manipulate. He was buying GO at MUCH higher prices

In tomorrow’s midterm races we have our eyes on the gubernatorial races.
Just 10 states have 70% of the data center pipelines (per our BNEF colleagues), and several of their governors are up for reelection.
We are particularly watching Georgia, Texas, Ohio.
Regardless of whether incumbents or challengers win, the direction is for tightening regulations. Incumbents who used to be in favor of data centers who happen to eek out a win will see how necessary it is to embrace anti-AI stance, setting up more anti AI next year into 2028.
