the t4t/t4c discourse just reminds me that some of you fundamentally do not see yourselves as women and consider us all this seperate category of thing
i promise the difference really isn't that big

the bimbofication of the femme identity is a real fucking problem. femmes are providers, carers, speakers, defenders, loud and proud. they are not whiny brats who need a butch to function in life. as a butch I can tell you nothing fills my chest more than a femme who takes the -

Okay, this Star Wars Galaxies photo. This is late May 26, 2005, just after Revenge of the Sith came out. Let me tell you about Jedi networking at the time.
This is what we called our Jedi Pajama party on Yavin 4. Proper Jedi robes were released so that we didn't have to run around in composite armor like before. All of the players in this photo are still alive and kicking it. On the right side of the screen is myself and @turnintoabat.
Hell, two of the people in this photo, I won't name which ones, one is a lawyer in Texas, and the other worked on The Walking Dead telltale games and went on to work at Pixar. Crazy stuff.
In Star Wars Galaxies as a Jedi, it's like I said. You had to stay on the move, stay as secretive as possible while you gained skills and force sensitivity. Now remember kids, this is BEFORE proper social media as you know it (this is Myspace era), so we spent a lot of time getting to know each other on the server. Your reputation on the server MATTERED; one bad set of behaviors and you could find yourself blacklisted by the whole server. This kind of networking was even more critical for Jedi due to the nature of being set back big time on death.
It was very common for Jedi to have a set of safe houses they built on a planet to be able to duck pursuers, and/or have the network of people who gave them permission to rest in their homes. In the center back of the photo, that Twi'lek? That was someone I knew for a long, long time.
I knew her when I was a Master Brawler, Master Fencer and Teras Kasi Master and she was just a Dancer. We talked and hung out a lot, and built a good friendship. I'd get beat up a lot and would take a lot of battle fatigue and mind wounds, and no matter what was going on if I was hurt she would stop what she was doing and come to me and help me repair that damage while I meditated my physical wounds off.
So when I became a Jedi, she was absolutely a critical resource and saved my life plenty of times. She already had a house but had extra lots to spare, so she was a BIG part of my Jedi survival as I moved from planet to planet. Always had a safe house to go and rest, work on crafting, and source materials for building my next saber, as well as studying my paths to figure out how I was going to build things out. Plus, you get to see when a bounty hunter is coming. Housing entrance restrictions were VERY strong in SWG, so a bounty hunter couldn't get you inside a private structure. Eventually most would just give up and go find another target. But yeah, I wouldn't have made it if it hadn't been for her help. That's what SWG was about. It was STRONG community focused. Who you knew, and what you knew, mattered.
So with her, when I would come to her house and visit to rest in the game, I would spend time telling and teaching her about what I was learning along the path, and she would watch me build new sabers. So naturally, when she became Jedi herself, she learned from me. This photo is her VERY FIRST OUTING.
To finish this story, myself, her and the Trandoshan in that photo? They came to my town and we all saw Revenge of the Sith together in theater that May. ^_^
Please get a real gun this shit will you get you put on a tshirt
I think it's important for queer people to protect themselves in the safest way they are able. As a leftist, I'm a strong advocate for gun ownership and safety training.
Yeah, you read that right. If you go far enough left, you get your gonna back.
While we do have firearms in the house, they stay locked up in my closet.
This is Bernie the gas powered Blicky. A Byrna. My home defense weapon of choice, and the safest way for a home full of depressed neurodivergent folks and kids to feel safe in an uncertain world.
If the blue laser and 1000 lumen light in the face doesn't deter someone, and the first round of pepper spray/teargas combo doesn't stop someone, the four steel balls that follow certainly will. If that doesn't stop someone, then we've got backups that go bang, and they certainly will.
It won't unalive anyone, but if somebody takes a couple hits they're going to wish it had for long enough to get away.

i also think it’s important that we highlight the difference between passing and being stealth - which are two very VERY different things. Passing is a subjective beauty standard and being stealth is an objective cultural standard.
There’s a guy in the bar wearing an SS shirt but he’s on crutches
Morally do I punch him for being a Nazi or not because he’s disabled

Here's a fun one for you. February 15th, 2005.
Star Wars Galaxies. On the left was the first Jedi in our guild; I think I was 3rd. I didn't reveal myself until this point. I became a Jedi Sunday February 13th, 2005.
That is me on the right with the lightsaber. I was an unusual Jedi according to server standards.
@turnintoabat was there.
