ICE is detaining a Wisconsin State Trooper.
Trooper Carel Aaron Van Der Merwe is being held at the ICE detention facility in Dodge County, Wisconsin.
His attorney, Marc Christopher, says the trooper holds a valid work authorization.

Erik Zepeda, 20, is a high school student with disabilities.
ICE agents tackled and detained him while he walked to school in California.
ICE claims he resisted. An eyewitness disputes that account.
ICE denied he suffered broken bones.
But his attorneys say hospital records confirm surgery for a fractured wrist.
Video captures the encounter, though a critical 10–20 seconds is missing.
ICE's use of force is under scrutiny. So is the accuracy of its official account.
The medical records could establish which version is true.

The Russians have abducted thousands of Ukrainian children from our country, and now we are witnessing something even worse—so says Zelenskyy.
Russia has already begun sending some of these children—children they stole from us, who have grown up during these years of war—into the Russian army. This is appalling and must stop.
And Europe simply stands by and watches these barbaric acts by the Russians.

I’ve known many other defense secretaries, starting with Cap Weinberger, who served as defense secretary under Reagan.
I can say without fear of contradiction that Pete Hegseth is the stupidest and least qualified of them all.
He is a danger to the entire world.
He must be impeached.

I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for my campaign as we fight to make sure every lawful ballot is counted.
We saw historic voter turnout in this election across Mississippi and showed the country that Mississippi Matters — in large part due to the support of my day one team who has been with me all along.
