AN ELECTROGENETIC INTERFACE An electrogenetic interface to program mammalian gene expression by direct current Here we provide the missing link by developing an electrogenetic interface that we call direct current (DC)-actuated regulation technology (DART), which enables electrode-mediated, time- and voltage-dependent transgene expression in human cells using DC from batteries. researchgate.net/publication… DART utilizes a DC supply to generate non-toxic levels of reactive oxygen species that act via a biosensor to reversibly fine-tune synthetic promoters. nature.com/articles/s42255-0… Direct current (DC)-Actuated Regulation Technology (DART) Direct Current (DC)-actuated regulation technology (DART) is an electrogenetic interface developed by researchers at ETH Zürich to enable wearable devices to directly program mammalian gene expression using low-voltage direct current from batteries. The system operates by stimulating engineered cells with simple DC power sources (such as AA or CR2032 batteries) via electrodes, such as acupuncture needles, which triggers the KEAP1/NRF2 pathway to fine-tune transgene expression. In proof-of-concept studies on type 1 diabetic mice, a daily 10-second stimulation at 4.5 V successfully triggered insulin release from implanted human pancreatic cells, restoring normoglycemia and demonstrating the technology's potential for closed-loop genetic interventions and real-time metabolic therapies. medicaldesignandoutsourcing.… Wearable Interfaces for Gene Therapies: Medical Delivery Solutions electropages.com/blog/2023/0… An electrogenetic interface is a synthetic biology technology that enables wearable electronic devices to directly program and control mammalian gene expression using electrical signals. researchgate.net/publication… The most prominent example is DART (Direct Current-actuated Regulation Technology), which serves as the "missing link" for interoperability between digital electronics and analog biological systems. popularmechanics.com/science… Key Mechanisms and Features Direct Current Activation: DART utilizes low-voltage direct current (DC) from common batteries to generate non-toxic levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS). pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article… Genetic Biosensor: These ROS activate the KEAP1–NRF2 antioxidant response pathway, which triggers the expression of target transgenes via a synthetic promoter. ouci.dntb.gov.ua/en/works/7q… Precision Control: The system allows for reversible, tunable, and voltage-dependent control of gene expression, enabling precise on-demand production of therapeutic proteins. Proof-of-Concept and Applications Diabetes Treatment: In a type 1 diabetic mouse model, once-daily transdermal stimulation using energized acupuncture needles (4.5 V DC for 10 s) stimulated insulin release and restored normoglycemia. Wearable Integration: The technology requires minimal power, with standard batteries capable of powering daily dosing for years, paving the way for closed-loop metabolic interventions and real-time telemetric monitoring. Broader Potential: Beyond insulin, the interface can be linked to the in situ production of a wide range of biopharmaceuticals, offering a new paradigm for gene- and cell-based therapies. YOUR SMARTPHONE !!!!! Smartphones and wearable devices can serve as the digital control interfaces for electrogenetic systems, which bridge the gap between electronic signals and biological gene expression. cordis.europa.eu/project/id/… Research from ETH Zurich has developed DART (Direct Current-Actuated Regulation Technology), an interface that uses low-voltage direct current from sources like AA batteries, button cells, or smartphone chargers to stimulate implanted cells. medicalxpress.com/news/2023-…

The Beginning...
I can see where this is going, if it keeps going. The cyber threat is temporary, lasting a few years. Then it will be handled. But not in a pleasant way. Between an AI attacker and AI defender, the faster smarter AI wins. The best defense thus requires the best AI (or SI since it would have to be “super.”) So to remain safe from all other AIs, your security (including phone, computer, car, finances) would logically be handed over to Earth’s sole supreme SI. At that point, cyber attacks via agentic swarms would cease to be an issue, replaced by a single electric god who watches over everything. Like humanity’s progression from polytheism to monotheism. Such SI would be the brain of the technocracy, Ahriman made manifest, the image of the beast given power to speak & enforce allegiance. Whoever develops it, owns it, runs it, would be the king of the world, the ultimate defender or the ultimate tyrant. Scaling data centers in space is the surest way to get there.

SILICON VALLEY'S RELIGION: TRANSHUMANISM Ranges from mild, accepted concepts like improving medicine to extend lifespan, to extreme forms gaining significant political, financial, power in Silicon Valley that advocate for shedding biological bodies entirely and uploading brains to the cloud. TRUE. The Main Risk: While individuals have the right to hold these beliefs, they become deeply problematic when they begin to exert significant control over industry, politics, and daily human lives.

DARPA Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) has been expanded into the Multi X Office (MXO). Multi X Office (MXO) MXO explores materials at the atomic, molecular, and cellular scales to develop new components, tools, and processes that transform both the future battlespace and tomorrow’s economies. It advances breakthrough technologies that displace existing capabilities while also harnessing commercial innovation to deliver asymmetric advantages in today’s operational environment. darpa.mil/about/offices/mxo#… Atomically Precise Molecules (AMP) The Atomically Precise Molecules (APM) program is developing synthesis approaches that deliver programmable precision polymers (PPPs), which control the sequence, orientation, and composition of molecules with high precision. In doing so, APM aims to unlock a previously inaccessible material synthesis to capability, enabling a near-infinite palette of programmable materials. Structured as a two-phase, 36-month effort, APM will first focus on developing new chemistries before employing them to synthesize revolutionary materials and incorporate them into functional devices. Sub-nanosecond electro-optic modulators (EOMs) will serve as the initial demonstration. darpa.mil/research/programs/… Sub-nanosecond electro-optic modulators (EOMs) Sub-nanosecond electro-optic modulators (EOMs) serve as a critical foundation for next-generation neuromorphic photonics deployed at the edge. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article… By manipulating light waves at picosecond timescales, these hardware components bridge the gap between digital electronic sensors and analog optical neural networks. Integrating sub-nanosecond electro-optic modulators (EOMs) into Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) allows edge intelligence systems to bypass the latency and power bottlenecks inherent in traditional transistor-based von Neumann architectures. opg.optica.org/ome/fulltext.… Digital RF Battlespace Emulator (DRBE) The Digital RF Battlespace Emulator (DRBE) program aims to create the world’s first, large-scale, virtual radio frequency (RF) environment for developing, training, and testing advanced RF systems, such as radar and electronic warfare (EW) systems. The target DRBE environment will enable numerous RF systems to interact with each other in a fully closed-loop RF arena, replicating dense, responsive, real-world RF environments. RF systems increasingly use artificial intelligence (AI) to help automate and augment capabilities for defense use. To help address the rigorous demands of testing and training these AI-enabled systems 24/7/365, virtual simulators are needed. DRBE is exploring novel computing architectures to enable the creation of a new breed of High Performance Computing (HPC) – dubbed “Real Time HPC” or RT-HPC. The goal of the RT-HPC is to generate computational performance in the double-digit petaFLOPs class while maintaining single-digit microsecond scale end-to-end latency. By balancing computational throughput with extreme low latency, DRBE should be capable of generating high-fidelity RF environments. To support the creation of RT-HPC and the virtual RF test range, DRBE will: 1. Develop novel processors and application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that realize the low-latency, high compute capacity vision. 2. Assemble these ASICs into a multi-processor RT-HPC system. 3. Design and integrate the necessary tools to demonstrate the use of the RT-HPC as a large-scale virtual RF test range. darpa.mil/research/programs/…
