Weekend Blockchain Training: Learning Solidity by Building
Last Saturday (17 October 2026), the Fundamentals of #Blockchain Technology Development training track of the South Africa-Switzerland Bilateral Research Chair in Blockchain Technology (#UJBlockchain) continued with
#Solidity programming.
Participants learnt by applying Solidity to a real-world scenario. They wrote the code, tested it and played around with its different use cases. Concepts covered included variables, data types, mappings, Ether units, modifiers, events, constructors,
custom errors and more.
Hands-on skills like these equip participants to build blockchain solutions that address societal problems and make a difference.
