Social media managers are not magicians.
To be fair though.... turning a blurry horizontal event photo into a week of content is basically sorcery.

Prediction: Disney acquires Savannah Bananas in the next 6-12 months.
Why?
- Disney’s new CEO prev led Disney Experiences. He understands the value of live, immersive entertainment.
- SB are on a generational run, with a fresh format that’s captivating families and younger audiences
- They’ve built an incredibly powerful entertainment brand with sold out stadiums, viral content, merchandise, and a growing league
- Disney already has a relationship with the Bananas through ESPN, Disney+, and park activations
There’s massive potential to scale this globally through live experiences, media, merchandise, and more.
Savannah Bananas has all the ingredients of a modern Disney entertainment franchise.

Hockey ice is white because it's painted. Rinks freeze a thin base layer, spray it with white paint, then seal the paint under more ice. The league has done this since the 1940s so fans could follow a black puck. Then someone pointed a projector at it.
It turns out hockey had accidentally built the best movie screen in sports. Matte white paint under a sheet of clear ice diffuses light almost perfectly, and the whole surface is dead flat.
It's also enormous. An NHL rink is 200 feet by 85, about 17,000 square feet. A standard IMAX screen is around 4,000.
A show like this takes roughly a dozen 20,000-lumen projectors hung in the rafters, aimed nearly straight down so the beams don't glare off the ice or bleed into the seats. Software warps and blends all of them into one picture that fits the rink's rounded corners pixel for pixel. The Devils put about $1 million into their rig a decade ago, and arenas across the league copied it.
San Jose was always going to push this furthest. The Sharks have run the most famous entrance in hockey since the 90s, a 17-foot shark head lowered from the rafters with fog pouring out of its mouth and eyes glowing red. For thirty years the players skated out of the tank. Now the whole rink is the tank, and the sharks circling under their skates are just light bouncing off paint that was only ever there to make a puck visible.

Amazing watching the commissioning of the USS Ted Stevens yesterday in Whittier! The ship is an Arleigh Burke class destroyer with a crew of more than 340 sailors. All three members of the congressional delegation were in attendance as well as @GovDunleavy and @SECNAV. #akleg
.@enterprisecares @Enterprise she called that #, and gets an agent with an indian accent reading from a script. Again NOT helpful. She is not on x. She gets the same response from Facebook and instagram. Useless and disappointing

Hello, we’d like to help. Please have Tonya send us a private message via her own social media account with her rental details, if she's able, so we can get started right away. We’ll take a look and follow up with her. Thank you! – Marisa xitter.cf/messages/compose?recip…

If you're a designer, you must look at this and ask yourself if the world we live in today is as diverse and beautiful as this from an artistic standpoint. These sites we not meant to be functional, they were expressive. Truly free thought and high sense of independence in web design has almost gone extinct in the most expressive of websites. Some of the most creative websites today look indistinguishable from a Shopify template.

i think we are living in the ruins of an advanced and creative civilization. jk, but nowadays all UIs seem the same

On paper, I’m in my 50’s & it’s really confusing…
In my head, I’m 35.
At a concert, I’m 25
After 10pm, I’m 72.
Getting up off the floor, I’m 93.
When someone makes me mad, I’m 2
BUT-
When an 80’s song comes on,
I’m 17, drunk in a field, & my mom thinks I’m at a sleepover

Wheel of Fortune really needs a new announcer. The one that took Johnnys place just sounds like he’s reading a book. He’s doesn’t sound excited to be there. 🤷♀️ @WheelofFortune
Oh no! He was on a label I used to work at years ago. Giant records.

I’m sorry but award shows at this point should just be live streamed on YouTube and other social media platforms.
The ratings for these award shows are never going to get back to where they once were because the average person simply doesn’t care about them anymore.
Older generations still watch because award shows have been a tradition for decades. But most younger and modern audiences couldn’t care less about sitting through a three-hour ceremony, especially when they can see the winners, speeches, and biggest moments online almost immediately.
The television landscape has fundamentally changed, and no amount of tinkering with hosts, runtimes, or categories is going to suddenly make them popular again.
The challenge now isn’t getting those old ratings back but rather figuring out how to make award shows feel relevant to the audiences who aren’t living and breathing this stuff.
