Sometimes, the most valuable part of a meeting is the conversation that follows. At our Oct. 22 Lunch and Learn, UTA Libraries staff discussed performance review updates, asked questions and shared concerns. Open communication starts with listening!
Thank you to everyone who joined UTA Libraries for Open Access Week! And a special thanks to our staff who helped make it happen. We wrapped up Thursday with a conversation about open-access publishing agreements and helping UTA research reach a wider audience.
Library Mall is the new spot.
With the UC under construction, student organizations have moved their tables right outside our doors...the energy is everything.
This is the college experience. Friendships and connections that stick around long after graduation.
While you’re checking out the booths, come inside and see us too. Whether you need a quiet place to study, help from our librarians, or just a spot to recharge between classes, we’ve got you. Come in and explore.
How can your research reach more people? Join UTA Libraries for Open Access Week tomorrow, Oct. 22, from 1–2 p.m. in the Parlor on the sixth floor of the UTA Central Library. Learn how open-access agreements may help UTA authors publish their work and reach wider audiences. Lunch provided!
Spooky season meets hands-on learning! Students in Stephanie Kinzinger’s Lovecraft seminar are playing Call of Cthulhu and building stories with UTA Libraries staff John Alexander, Kenneth Nguyen and Chloe Bennett. Faculty + Libraries = creative learning in action!
Open Access Week continues at UTA Libraries! Join us Oct. 21, 10–11 a.m., for “Get Open! Scoring Access to the 2026 World Cup Collection.” Learn how we're preserving community stories from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Central Library, 6th-floor parlor. Breakfast provided!
Knowledge is powerful. Access makes it even more impactful. Join UTA Libraries Oct. 19, 21 or 22 for Open Access Week to talk affordable textbooks, community archives and sharing research with the world. Attend in person or online!

Pardon our progress! UTA Libraries is preparing for HVAC upgrades from the Basement through the 6th floor. You may notice reduced heating or AC on a floor during installation. Thanks for your patience as we improve our spaces for the Maverick community!
The Next Big Thing!
UTA aerospace engineering student Orion Horstman designed and built his own electric guitar in the UTA Libraries' FabLab Shop Room. Seriously.
With time, hard work, and help from our staff, he turned padauk and sapele wood into a one-of-a-kind Telecaster-inspired guitar. (And on the other side of the first floor you can plug it in and rock in The Studios!)
Got a project in mind? Come talk to us. We’ll help you figure out the tools, the processes, and the next steps.
The resources are here, so, what will you create?
