Announcing DataConnect: an open source desktop app that pulls your cross-platform data in one click.
Platforms lock your context in: there's no API to get your Shopify purchases, ChatGPT memories + conversations, or Spotify listen history.
Try it out: account.vana.org/download-daโฆ
The new Vana App is now live.
It sits behind the apps you use. When one of them asks for your data, you see exactly what it wants and decide. Say yes and the data moves with your permission, and the move is recorded.
See it work in OpenPet: connect an Oura Ring, get a pet that reads your sleep back to you.
Trying it this week earns XP.

AI agents can only help you if they know about you. And what they know is your data.
So who moves it, and who decides? That was the question at Builder Nights Seoul with @MetaMask, @lfdecentralized and @0xTicker.
@juliangordonhk8 opened on who is already building this. LF Decentralized Trust counts ten central banks among its members, including the Bank of Korea. It also hosts the standard Vana wrote for how personal data moves.
On the first panel, @francescoswiss and the MetaMask team talked about agents moving from trading to doing everyday things for you. For that, an agent needs your data, and you need to stay in charge of it.
On the second, @sheila_warren and the panel made a harder point. Regulators everywhere are talking about digital public infrastructure and decentralization. Itโs a natural fit for Web3, but very few Web3 projects are in the room.
Web3 doesnโt need to invent new use cases. It needs to meet the ones that already exist.
Which projects do you see showing up for this work?

Vana sat down with Singapore's business and government leaders at the Tanglin Club, hosted by the MIT Club of Singapore.
Singapore wants AI built on people's real data, and its law already gives people the right to move that data from one organisation to another. What it needs is a way to do it.
That is what Vana is. A person decides who can use their data, for what, and for how long. Every move is recorded. Vana wrote the standard for this, the Linux Foundation hosts it, and governments are scoping national rollouts.
The network already carries 1.5 million users and more than 20 million transactions.
Singapore is putting S$1 billion into AI research through 2030. The countries that get the most out of AI will be the ones where people's data can move with their permission. Vana is how it moves.

Want to bring your data with you everywhere?
@volodisai is walking through the Vana CLI live in our Discord.
Install it, connect your data, run your own Personal Server, and plug it into your AI over MCP. Questions answered live.
Tue 6 Oct, 20:00 PT / Wed 7 Oct, 11:00 SGT
Sick of copying and pasting context between AIs?
V got you. That's what the Vana CLI is for.
Collect your data, run your own Personal Server, and let AI tools read from it. Only five commands to spin it up.
npm install -g vana-cli
vana login
vana connect github
vana connect chatgpt
claude mcp add vana -- vana mcp
Then your data goes wherever you go. Any AI you use can read your context, from any source you've connected - all from your Personal Server, on hardware you control and under keys only you hold.
Stop the server any time [vana server stop], and no app can reach your data until you start it again.

Last week, the Vana team, led by @artieart88, ran a workshop in the Dominican Republic on using Vana as Digital Public Infrastructure for its 11M citizens to move their data around freely across government services and the private sector.
Institutional adoption of crypto is also about ensuring it is used by everyday people to solve real problems.
When a country builds a bridge, any car can cross it, and it keeps working long after the builder leaves.
So why do we accept critical digital infrastructure that locks us into one company's system?
When WhatsApp went down for six hours in 2021, millions lost the way they reach their doctor, their bank and their government.
By contrast, any phone can call any other phone because of open standards. Data should work the same way. It should move freely between platforms on decentralized rails that the community can own. Enter @vana.
Back from the Regional Digital Public Infrastructure Forum in Santo Domingo and more convinced than ever: data portability has to be public infrastructure, not a platform feature.
Thank you, Vice-Minister Armando J. Manzueta Peรฑa, Ministerio de Administraciรณn Pรบblica RD and Oficina Gubernamental de Tecnologรญas de la Informaciรณn y Comunicaciรณn de la Repรบblica Dominicana,ย for the opportunity.
The Dominican Republic should be proud of what it is leading, and I'm excited to be involved in your amazing work!
Join us this evening for a soiree with our friends from @lfdecentralized, @MetaMask and @0xTicker to cap off a great week at KBW.
Great conversations. Real builders. No shill.
Big day in Seoul ๐ฐ๐ท last day of @kbwofficial and weโre closing it out with Builder Nights: Agentic Edition ๐ฆ
Together with @vana ,@lfdecentralized and @0xTicker, weโre bringing builders, traders, researchers, policy + infrastructure people into the same room to talk about what a trusted agentic future actually needs.
huge S/O to @Q_Ticker for making it happens!
Come say hi!
Are you long-term on crypto? You should probably attend Builder Nights Seoul tomorrow night.
Featuring people who have seen adoption go truly global:
- @juliangordonhk8, Asia Pacific lead, @lfdecentralized
- @sheila_warren, former CEO, Crypto Council for Innovation, and founder of the @wef's blockchain practice
- @francescoswiss, Head of Developer Relations, @MetaMask
- @artieart88, Managing Director, @vana
Most of KBW is about the next cycle. This room is about the next decade. If you are serious about adoption, be in it.

Since 2022, Korea has had one of the most comprehensive data portability laws in the world. It started with banking under MyData, and now millions of Koreans move their financial data between apps.
By 2027, every sector in Korea, public and private, has to let your data move when you ask.
The law is in effect. Implementation is the open question. Moving data safely, with your permission every time, at the speed people and their AIs need, takes technology that did not exist.
Vana solves this. With Linux Foundation ConsenSys to discuss Trust, we created the world standard for personal data portability, and it's live.
On 2 October, we're bringing the right people into one room in Seoul: the @lfdecentralized and @MetaMask on how Web3 can be applied beyond financial use cases.
To our Korean community and everyone at KBW: RSVP below. Spots are stritctly limited.
