This is right but most people are quite poor at/uninterested in delegating tasks. Even the canonical example “book me a flight” comes with a dozen unstated preferences + decisions. It is still often more work to offload that context than just do it yourself.
i've been talking to a lot of normal ppl outside of tech about personal agents & the convos have been incredibly fascinating, particularly w.r.t. to retention.
most consumer products typically have one of two types of retention, one is desire driven which is just pure dopamine (like insta, tiktok, games). they often don't even need notifications because you know there is a reward for your desire always waiting. the second is dependency driven, like emails, calendars, even credit cards & banking. most ppl have to do this, it's not something they necessarily desire (unless they are a sociopath).
the challenge with personal ai agents right now is that they occupy a weird third space where they aren't emotionally rewarding most of the time to become entertainment like the first category, & they're not reliable / indispensable enough to become pure infra. i.e. they fail, & there is a lot of friction. outside of pure research driven tasks, even one failure is often enough to not come back for the utility value prop.
which is why i think vertical agents that focus on making your life more interesting & entertaining are worth deep exploration still. & even very focused vertically integrated utility agents that work reliably will still be in demand. tons of ppl still think in jobs to be done when reaching for anything & with general purpose agents that's just not as crisp yet on what those critical jobs are.
It was incredibly rewarding for @terraincap to support in the creation of @p0's first brand campaign.
We drew inspiration from Hockney's collages, scientific slide libraries, and the insights we draw from deep research.
See the whole picture in NYC, SF, and LDN now.
last week, we launched the first batch of our @p0 brand campaign in NYC
every ad is a collage assembled with citations, representing a real research report built on Parallel's APIs
more to come on how we built this. in the meantime, share with us if you encounter it in the wild!
What’s one book we should include as we build the best office library?
Recommendations welcome across design, business, art, technology, fiction, history…

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Central Georgia EMC, deploying 50 MW of residential battery storage across the cooperative’s service territory. It’s our first utility partnership outside of Texas.
The program gives @CentralGAEMC a networked fleet it can dispatch 24/7, adding local capacity to support the grid. Members get automatic whole-home backup for $95, with no additional monthly costs.

There is an increasing advantage in being able to sample authentically across genres and tell stories between seemingly disconnected parts of cultural. Even a tenuous connection, as here, gives people another way into paying attention...
Meta are finding a good mix of serious and unserious without feeling overly corpo... They're playing loose.
The humor feels comfortable alongside the ambition.
That’s difficult to pull off (esp at Meta, who have often felt so carefully tailored and stiff and unsure). It certainly helps when the people involved seem to be having fun and can pull on interests/ideas/source beyond what they are announcing. cc @dtrinh

SECRETARY RUBIO on AMERICA.GOV: A passport is more than just a travel document. It's an expression of the unbreakable bond between the nation and the citizen.
AI leaders and governments are calling for independent audits and transparency. AIUC is answering the call.
They're already certifying Cursor, ElevenLabs, Harvey, and now frontier models while quickly building a name that sets the standard for alignment, trust, and quality.
The Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company has raised $55M to audit and insure frontier AI models.
Insurance produces audits the public can trust and understand. The mechanism is simple: insurers need audits to price the risk. They pick auditors they believe will help them price the risk most accurately. Insurers then turn the audits into a price signal that cuts through political debates. Insurers are aligned with the public: if they get the audits wrong, they go out of business. That’s different from today, where labs pick their own auditors, creating public distrust.
Insurance only works if we scale up auditing, and we are building the infrastructure to do that. Millions of agents are being deployed; they leave terabytes of traces and will create thousands of incidents across dozens of risk categories. To scale auditing, we need reliable agents to surface evidence traces for human review.
History guides us. Take cars: auto insurers funded crash tests to price risks; crash tests led us to airbags, lowering the risk. Take electricity: home insurers funded lightbulb tests to price fire risks; today, every lightbulb carries a safety mark. Nuclear safety works similarly.
We’ve been learning by doing.. In the last 6 months, we’ve audited and insured frontier agent builders like Cursor, ElevenLabs, Lovable and Harvey. For ElevenLabs to get the world’s first agent insurance coverage, a Lloyd’s of London insurer required quarterly technical audits by an auditor of the insurer’s choice. We’ve built infrastructure for quarterly technical audits of any agent, working alongside firms like Gray Swan (technical evaluations) and Schellman (audit).
In the coming weeks, we’ll share our vision for how an insurance ecosystem can work for the frontier, and open source the world’s first actuarial model for frontier AI catastrophic risk.
We’re hiring across all roles in San Francisco. Come do your life’s work with us.

If you were assembling a team to build the standard for evaluating AI, you’d want firsthand experience inside frontier labs, a deep understanding of insurance and incentives, and the independence to ask hard questions.
That’s Rune and Rajiv of AIUC.
@aiunderwriting already certifies agents from Cursor, KPMG, ElevenLabs, Harvey and many more. Now they’re extending their audits and insurance to frontier models.
We’re backing them to build something that outlasts any one generation of models: an institution both industry and the public can trust.
Proud to deepen our partnership with the team in their Series A.
