Cook at home more. Cook to know what's in your food. Cook to slow down. Cook for the people you love. Cook to save money. Cook to eat real ingredients. Cook to break up with the food industry. Your kitchen is the most powerful pharmacy you have.

A 12 year old boy walks into my office having already seen a psychiatrist, an allergist, a lung doctor, maybe a GI doctor. Seven different drugs by age 12. Kicked out of kindergarten for being disruptive. Diagnosed with ADHD and put on stimulant medication for years. Nobody connected the dots. He also had asthma, headaches, stomachaches, insomnia. Each doctor treated their one piece and ignored the rest. I did a full workup instead of writing another prescription. His gut microbiome was a mess. Leaky gut. Elevated gluten antibodies. Reacting to dairy. Fungal overgrowth. Low zinc, low magnesium, low B6, low folate, low omega 3s. Lead toxicity. He ate only processed food. Never a vegetable in his life. So we removed the gluten, dairy, sugar and processed food. Rebuilt his microbiome with probiotics. Treated the fungal overgrowth. Chelated the lead. Corrected the nutrient deficiencies with magnesium, zinc, fish oil. Two months later his mother brought him back. No more symptoms. No more meds. No more behavioral issues. And his handwriting went from illegible to perfect penmanship. Same kid, same brain, two months apart. That handwriting change is what made me write The UltraMind Solution. A brain that chaotic and disorganized became coherent and synchronized once we fixed what was happening in his body. The writing on the page was just a reflection of what was happening in his gut. ADHD is not a brain problem. It's a systemic problem that shows up in the brain. If your kid's brain isn't working right, don't just look north of the neck. Look at what's happening south of the border first.

As we pause today, we remember the 2,977 lives taken on September 11, 2001. We also hold close the thousands who have since lost their lives, and the tens of thousands still living with illness because of that day. To the victims, the families, the survivors, the first responders, recovery workers, and everyone forever changed by 9/11: You are remembered, you are honored, and you are loved. 🇺🇸 We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙

The footage coming out of Nepal has been so hard to watch. It’s heartbreaking, and I know many of you have been feeling that too. If you’ve been wondering how to help, even a small donation to the Red Cross can make a difference. Every little bit matters right now. Keeping everyone affected in my thoughts. ❤️
The @IFRC has launched an Emergency Appeal for CHF 25 million to support @NepalRedCross following the devastating flash floods in northern Nepal. Nepal Red Cross teams have been on the ground since the immediate aftermath of the floods. The 24-month IFRC Emergency Appeal will support shelter, cash assistance, health, relief items, water and sanitation, mental health and psychosocial support, restoring family links, and longer-term recovery. IFRC is mobilizing its network to support Nepal Red Cross as the response evolves. Donate: ifrc.org/emergency/nepal-fla… Read the press release: ifrc.org/press-release/ifrc-…

Just 250 years ago, America didn’t exist. Let that sink in. Within three generations of people, this country has accomplished the impossible > first country to send human to the moon > invented the internet and core infrastructure behind it (ARPANET, TCP/IP) > invented airplanes > invented the telephone > invented electricity distribution > invented reusable rockets > invented the polio vaccine and mRNA technology > invented the GPS > built the deepest capital markets in history > won 34% of all nobel prize awards, more than the next two countries combined > annually spend a third of the world’s entire R&D budget > led the Genome project that sequenced human DNA > hold just 4% of the population but contribute 25% to the world’s GDP > hold the oldest written national constitution that still remains in force The birth of America was not just a win for Americans. It was a win for the entire world. God bless America. Greatest country on the planet.

“I work the front desk at a small doctor’s office, and I wish people could see what happens on the other side of the phone. Every day, older patients call us confused. They are told to use the patient portal, upload documents, check lab results online, fill out forms before the visit, and confirm everything through a link. Some of them do not know what a portal is. Some do not have a smartphone. Some have one, but they are afraid to click the wrong thing. Last week, a man in his late 80s called about his test results. He said, “Ma’am, I don’t mean to bother you, but the computer says I have a message and I don’t know how to open it.” He sounded ashamed. That broke my heart. He should not have to feel ashamed for needing a human being. Technology can be helpful. I understand that. But when people who built this country are made to feel helpless because everything became a login and a password, we have gone too far. Not everything needs to be an app. Not every answer should be hidden behind a screen. Sometimes people need a voice. A patient person. A real human who says, “Don’t worry, I can help you.” Progress should not leave seniors behind. Because one day, the world will move faster than us too. And I hope someone is kind enough to slow down. ~Unknown

On this day in 1776, the United States was actually born. Not July 4. July 2. That's the day the Continental Congress voted to break from Britain, and John Adams was so certain of it that he predicted July 2 would be the great American holiday forever. He nailed everything except the date. The vote came down to the wire, and one man had to ride through the night to save it. Delaware's delegation was split, one for independence, one against, which meant the colony's vote canceled itself out. The tie-breaker, Caesar Rodney, was 80 miles away in Delaware. He got word that he was needed and rode all night through a summer thunderstorm, sick and in pain, boots and spurs still on, and made it into Philadelphia just in time to cast Delaware's vote for independence. The other holdouts fell into place too. In Pennsylvania, the men most opposed, including John Dickinson, deliberately stayed away from the chamber so their colony could swing to yes. South Carolina came around for the sake of a united front. When the roll was called, twelve colonies voted for independence and not a single one voted against. New York simply abstained, waiting on permission from home. And so, on July 2, 1776, it was done. The colonies had legally, officially declared themselves free. The next day Adams wrote to his wife Abigail that this day "will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival," with "pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations." Fireworks and all. He was describing the Fourth of July two days early. So why do we celebrate the 4th? Because that's the day Congress approved the final wording of the document explaining the decision, the Declaration of Independence. The vote to be free happened on the 2nd. The paperwork got finished on the 4th, and history remembered the paperwork. The country was actually born in a rainstorm and a roll call on July 2, thanks in part to one sick man who refused to let a tie decide the fate of a nation.

🚨 96 HOURS BURIED... ALIVE. Nearly four days beneath the rubble. No sunlight. Little air. No certainty that anyone was coming. Yet against unimaginable odds, a father and his son have been rescued alive from a collapsed building in Caraballeda, Venezuela. It is a remarkable reminder that miracles can still happen—and why rescue teams cannot afford to stop searching.
