On the back of this, excited to share some of what myself and the rest of the @etherealdex team has been up to. As of this week, a cohort of community members, friends, and Season Zero participants have started playing with Ethereal on testnet - this is a small but exciting milestone on the road to mainnet. Everyone has been laser focused in building mode the past 9 months, so not too much has been shared with the community - but that's about to change. One of Ethereal’s core missions is to become the ultimate DeFi everything app. Part of this means addressing the fragmentation that currently exists onchain between things like spot, perps, RWA, lending markets to deliver a best-in-class unified UX. The rest is about leveraging unique properties of DeFi to create new products that users want. DeFi is more than just empowering users through transparency and self-custody - these are incredibly important but should be taken as minimum requirements. Bringing new users onchain requires a materially new or different feature/experience that the average user did not have access to before. sUSDe from @ethena giving the average DeFi user access to levered crypto basis is a good example of this. One of the superpowers of DeFi is the ability to compose unique products with different money legos - I have always strongly believed this ever since first learning about DeFi many years ago. The choice of legos is also incredibly important though, which is where @ConvergeOnchain comes into play. Establishing an ecosystem that joins institutional capital with fully permissionless DeFi lays the groundwork for a hotspot of onchain financial innovation. Many of the design decisions for Ethereal are downstream of these ecosystem properties. Ethereal is a USDe-first product to unlock scalable native yield for users. It will sit on top of Converge for seemless integration with RWA issuance hubs. And it leverages cutting edge EVM rollup tech for high performance, security, and existing network effects. As feedback flows in from our first testnet users, we're looking to get the app in the hands of even more folks before releasing publicly.
