BREAKING: Google will turn off Search entirely for schools that opt out of its AI features, per The New York Times. Schools can’t disable Google’s AI Overviews or AI Mode on their own. Now, if they reject AI, they lose Search altogether, per NYT

One of the most effective ways to keep people from questioning an unjust system is to convince them that their ability to survive it makes them morally superior to those who can't.

We shut down the country for COVID, yet now the 13th outbreak is being largely ignored by the NHS and UK GOVERNMEN... COVID VACCINATIONS have been removed as an option for most of the population... and NOVAVAX still hasn't been made widely available in the UK
Flu can be a serious illness, especially for vulnerable people. UK CMOs urge eligible groups to get vaccinated. Healthcare workers have a professional responsibility to protect patients from infectious diseases. We urge them to take up flu vaccination. nhs.uk/nhs-services/vaccinat…

Non-engagement is often a symptom, not a choice. Over 15 years in the NHS, I saw a clear shift in how we respond to people who don't attend. When someone at risk missed appointments or didn't answer calls, we used to go to them. A home treatment or CMHT nurse would visit, check they were safe and try to bring them into treatment. As an on-call registrar, I assessed many people who had said they were suicidal but couldn't come to clinic or had missed appointments. The team was worried, so we made the effort to reach them many times during the night or at weekends. In recent years, I have seen people discharged despite high risk, simply because they don't engage. This is often based on an assumption that they have capacity, without a proper capacity assessment. The same happens to people with severe anxiety or agoraphobia. Some cannot leave home, yet they receive a letter, miss the appointment and are discharged without ever being seen. I have seen people deteriorate after this, in the NHS, in A&E and in private practice. We have moved from trying to engage people who are unwell to discharging them for not engaging, even when that is part of their illness. If someone can't come to us because of their illness, the answer shouldn't be a discharge letter.

As a fellow doctor, I find it concerning that we're still having this conversation in late 2026. There are so many pathogens that spread through the air (besides SARS-CoV-2). The relevant consideration is shared air, not whether a space is public or private. I wish doctors showed more commitment to protecting their patients from preventable infections. 1/2

Hi Leo, greetings from Australia. I'm an anaesthetist, and I wear an N95 mask in all shared indoor air to protect my patients, my community, and myself. I also educate my fellow doctors about the science: covidfordoctors.org
Has anyone ever come across a Covid-crazy like this in the UK? It seems to be a specifically yank thing.
