The Klawer Bridge rebuild is well and truly on track... Today I visited the bridge to assess the repair progress and meet with the team doing this important work. It’s been almost four months since this bridge was damaged by severe storms. Engineers are now reinforcing the existing structure to ensure that it can withstand future storms. While the bridge was re-opened to pedestrian traffic some weeks ago, I know that it's been frustrating for residents to find alternative vehicle routes. The bridge is expected to reopen within the next six months, built to handle the kind of heavy rainfall we’re seeing more of.
