It might be on the table. He has already been fairly vocal about how the Olympics are his priority and recently cast doubt on whether he'll play next year's Ashes. Has had the vertigo flare-ups and the neck issue, he might decide enough is enough at a certain point.
Will be interesting to see if Jansen is more hesitant going for the full-blooded pull after seeing that ball barely bounce. Dangerous in general to try and keep pulling Cummins even when it's not doing that.
Not moved. They are only playing on the same, bland, heartless pitches we think are good for T20 cricket.
Need to see them dominate on top of Everest, in the Atacama, in some active volcanoes first before being convinced.
Aus won a series in NZ in early 2016. They went back to NZ in early 2024 and won that series.
In between, they played 9 series away from home and won 1 of them (vs Pak in 2022).
Australia's overseas scorecard since 2017:
India: Played 2 & lost 2 series.
RSA: Played 2 & lost 2 series (Subject to Australia *NOT* turning the Newlands Test around)
England: Played 2 & Drew 2 series.
This is poor.
To be fair, the batting has been poor mostly.

Next match is at the notoriously massive Eden Park now. Really some hilarious commentary from Doull and Smith in those first couple matches. But very much in keeping with their typical attitudes.
The great spin basher walks in after the platform of dreams at 180/2 in 10 overs and gets 5 off 10 balls and is dismissed by a spinner bowling a full toss. Time to call it.

Looks like 170+ will be a tough chase today. #NZvInd
Without knowing all the specifics, it seems like it would be irresponsible of them to play him? This isn't a pure pain tolerance thing, there are clearly functional issues based on how he was struggling and even him being dropped down the order.
The sight of a frustrated Steve Smith abruptly leaving his match-eve fitness test has deepened Australia's top-order selection concerns for the #SAvAUS series decider in Cape Town: cricketa.us/47Jalst
What is this nonsense baseball vs cricket discourse? Even among Americans with contempt for the sport it's widely acknowledged as arguably the hardest task in sports and cricket fans are saying it's nothing more than a full toss lol
Not the first time Jurel has gone trying to pull one from well outside off like that. Far more difficult to control properly.
Another strike against the "batters always know when they've hit it." That was unreal lol, Shadab had completely given up.
True across formats as well. The Lords heartbreak into the Manchester draw and thrilling Oval win last year could well have been for this gen of fans what several memorable matches of the past were for many of us. In some sense, that's the beauty of sports in general.
Still don't think the Iyer stuff is tenable and this is part of why parachuting him as captain right away before he had a chance to be a part of the team and score was a mistake. He'll play a good innings here and there but don't think he's anywhere near the best XI.
This is why their overall strategy with him is rather nonsensical. If he's not going to get T20s to play, at least release him to play other cricket in the meantime, whether that's Ranji or A matches.
