I don’t discuss politics with most people, especially online or with friends, because most people aren’t looking for an actual conversation. They’re looking to argue and/or to see if you agree with them. People online resort to insults instead of attacking your points and when you don’t agree with your friends, it causes a rift in the friendship. I can have civil discourse about politics because I’m open to opposing opinions. A lot of people want to live in an echo chamber
