Delighted to join young volunteers of Vrikshit Foundation for a cleanliness drive at Shakurpur today.
A cleaner Delhi begins with Jan Bhagidari. Urge our youth to take ownership of their neighbourhoods and make Shramdaan a people’s movement. Also interacted with local residents, emphasizing that maintaining the park cleaned by these youngsters is now a shared community responsibility.
Together, let’s build a cleaner, healthier, greener Delhi.

A SHARED VISION, BROUGHT TO LIFE WITH CREATIVITY 🎨
Under the guidance and active support of Deputy Commissioner, Old Delhi Zone, MCD is giving a fresh and vibrant look to public spaces through community participation.
The Old Delhi Zone, MCD, in collaboration with Vrikshit Foundation, beautified the external walls of the MCD public toilet at Subhash Park, Netaji Subhash Marg, with creative wall paintings. 10–12 volunteers contributed through shramdaan, adding colour and character to the space.
Together, MCD and the community are working towards a cleaner, more organised and beautiful Old Delhi.

In just 2 hours, our volunteers collected 3+ tonnes of waste from shakurpur I block💪🏻
But cleaning is only the first step. We now aim to make the soil fertile for plantation and transform the surrounding walls through art.
With citizens, volunteers and the government working together, we can turn neglected spaces into cleaner, greener and more beautiful ones.
This is how we build the India we want to see. 🇮🇳

A dumpyard yesterday. A beautiful public space today. ❤️
We transformed the Nangloi Flyover with our volunteers, artists and the community, with support from PWD for materials and maintenance van for collecting waste.
Proof that with a little effort and collective action, even the most neglected spaces can get a second life.

🎨 This isn’t just paint on a wall - it’s a message to thousands.
Every mural we create is a silent speaker, reminding communities every day that change starts here.
Here’s why our walls talk, and why we keep painting them.
