Damn, California. This is Matt Davis Trail, Mt Tam. Not sure it gets much better than this.

The sun rose this morning. So we’ve still got that going for us, I suppose.

Ok, I did it. It's done. That means the texts and emails will stop now, right? ...right?

Santa Cruz drivers, the "Felton Pit Stop" station on Graham Hill (across from Safeway) has $3.99 unleaded this morning, appears to be some sort of promo. I filled up a van and saved quite a bit! 🎃 @NativeSantaCruz

Great SEO panel and discussion with @97thfloor in SF this morning.

Cool human moment: older gentleman stopped me in parking lot and asked if I was interested in hearing about the rare atmospheric conditions at play right now in Santa Cruz. This is something called a “sun dog”. Glad I slowed down to listen! #CirclesAroundTheSun

Maybe this is old news... but I am seeing paid ads below organic results for tons of queries this afternoon - not hard to find examples. @rustybrick how late to the party am I?

Not sure how many more “running weather” weekends these lakes will see this year: Sardine Lakes in Tahoe National Forest. Tough climb, technical/rocky terrain, epic views and a great trail buddy.

Watched "I Saw The TV Glow" with my (trans) 15 year old. It was intense, beautiful, and heartbreaking. I can't relate, but it (seems to) nail the struggle/pain of gender dysphoria. They were speechless - I don't think they've ever felt so validated by commercial art like that.

Anytime I’m going off-grid I find myself missing AOL/AIM Away Messages. To the best of my knowledge, we no longer have an easy way to inform a majority of people in our lives what we’re up to, let alone if we plan to be unresponsive for a bit.

This is not a 2FA verification code... it's a Trump fundraising text 😂 These texts come in faster than I can delete them, but they're certainly entertaining.

ED-related queries have long felt like a barometer for search result quality, as they're a battleground for spammers. Wild to still see fly-by-night pharmacy sites (see champspediatrics result) ranking in 2024, but arguably wilder to see Amazon Pharmacy at the top of the pile.

The next 24 hours will consist of many consecutive 5ks, as much positive self-talk as I can muster, and, if I'm lucky, a few minutes of shuteye. Here goes nothin! #Pemberton24 @FunWicomico

That was wild. I ran 19 5ks, just shy of 60 miles! I ran this for fun/without a strategy but had no idea I could do that. We’re capable of so much more than we realize.

If you're an SEO (or just curious why Forbes ranks for every query under the sun, without any expertise in those areas) this is worth a read.

Life is too short for sub-par avocados. Had a big bag of weird, stringy, ripe-but-still-hard avos from Costco and they damn near ruined my week. I'm finally free of the cursed fruit, and it's like I can finally breathe again.
