Unironically, Kirill Marchenko is the reason Toronto looked fine for a lot of the season even if he wasn't scoring at will. He drove play at a borderline elite rate, he had a combination of speed+skill+IQ that you rarely find and his defensive posture was excellent.

On the whole I think John Chayka has made more good moves than bad ones but trading Woll for basically nothing to sign a guy a decade older for twice the money with worse stats may define his legacy regardless of what else happens.

Better team in the second and the third. Got goalied while our goalie is a fossil who has had a single game where he's let in less than 3. Honestly, just take the second half of the game as a positive and move on. Don't get too low on the lows or you'll kill yourself. 9-9.
