Michael Tracey jokes with Anna Khachiyan and Dasha Nekrasova that he wants to identify the Cornell 7 rape survivor to rape her. Tracey also mocks childhood sexual abuse survivor and comedian Margaret Cho who advocates for rape survivors. Tracey: “What made the Lindsay Clancy resonate is similar to what made the Cornell 7 resonate is in that what these women were doing was directing their ire at me, in the form of these videos, I think some Real Housewife person did it… and a bunch of others, uh, Margaret Cho like a comedian did a whole instagram thing on it… it was like this horrible journalist Michael Tracey says bluh, blah, blah. Her theory was the reason why I was seeking to identify Jane Doe was because I wanted to…” Dasha: “Rape her.” Tracey: “Maybe that’s what she was eluding to but the way she phrased it was that I wanted to find out if she was pretty enough to deserve…” Anna: “Be worthy of rape.” Tracey: “Yes, and that I wanted all my guy friends to gather round so we could all ogle at her.” Anna: “Well, the answer is yes, but…” Tracey: “I’m not even gonna go there but um no, her physical attractiveness, her lack of.. yeah, I mean, she seems cool. I’ve said this before, she seems a little quirky. So, I don’t know. I never would have thought to name her or identify her just as some kind of like vendetta right? First of all she was 20 when it happened. I mean everybody is pretty stupid when they’re 20. It’s like something that they do that ends up erupting into this controversy that they probably couldn’t have anticipated to end up defining their life in any real way.
