Pulled out @DarleneZschech's Platinum Collection (2000) and was reminded anew of the radical shift in default-setting cwm where tempo is concerned. While we once had, perhaps, an excess of what scoffers called "happy-clappy" tunes, we could stand to shift the pendulum back a bit.
Always blessed by the @JudsonU chapel ministry! Thanks, @Chris_Lash, Branden Benskin, tech folks, and ministry team for kicking off this TGIF 1st-week ending chapel, and thanks in advance for leading us so well this semester.
"Anything you can get done with anxiety, you can get done better with peace." ~ Alan Fadling, speaking at The Practice Church
Thanks to all who assisted. Mini-crisis averted.

From The Valley of Vision: "Thou art preparing joy for me and me for joy." Might we all, but especially believers, much more regularly anticipate being saturated with supernaturally supplied joy.
Haven't done one of these in a while. Good to be led in worship this a.m. by @aaron_andries @bringrenewal church. Blest by the pastoral prayer at the end of the set (PK acorn doesn't fall far from the oak) and the mix of songs and styles. #ProudProf
From "After Prayer" (The Valley of Vision):
"O God of grace, I bewail my cold, listless, heartless prayers; their poverty adds sin to sin. If my hope were in them I should be undone. But the worth of Jesus perfumes my feeble breathings and wins their acceptance." Thank God!
"O help me set an upright example that will ever rebuke vice, allure to goodness, and evidence that lovely are the ways of Christ" (Valley of Vision, "Evening Renewal").
Just got this semester's @JudsonU Communication Arts Conference underway down in "Doc Ryder" Studio B in the @dcwpa. So grateful. #JudsonAwesome
"Every new duty calls for more grace than I now possess, but not more than is found in thee, the divine Treasury in whom all fullness dwells" (The Valley of Vision).
"The point of freedom and the point of liberation is so that we can worship God" (David Bailey at @practicetribe, explicating Exodus 12).
"People may not live what they profess, but they always live what they believe." ~ Pastor @iansimkins in @JU_Chapel, 3.16.22.
Fascinating look at what some are seeing as a trend. Are folks tiring of slickly produced worship? religionnews.com/2021/11/16/…
"In all my affairs may I distinguish between duty and anxiety, and may my character and not my circumstances chiefly engage me."
~ The Valley of Vision
Alumni worship-leading at @JudsonU in @JU_Chapel. Thanks, @aaron_andries for reminding us of the value of NOT leaving our troubles at the door but of bringing all of our being, in health and brokenness, to corporate worship. #JudsonAwesome
