“Living in the OC was tough as a young, Black, African kid. I was a token, a play thing, or something to be made fun of. I internalized a lot of that hatred, and it took me another decade to unlearn.” - Suzanne Mungalez #BlackOCArchive Click to Read: instagram.com/p/C_sefoWpbHa/…

Gaza's archives are gone. These archives documented a history deeply rooted long before immigrants from Eastern Europe arrived in our country.
The Israeli occupation destroys the central archive of #Gaza municipality, executing thousands of historical documents, and deliberately razing all life forms; erasing the city and its #history. It is worth noting that the archive holds #documents more than a hundred years old.

The police invaded @chechebooks at our solidarity meeting and arrested 3 of our Comrades who are now at Muthangari Police station. Call for their release. This is illegal and unconstitutional! #releasecheche3, #StopGazaGenocide #endtheoccupation

Black people in Tunis, both Tunisian & non, have reported being scared to leave their homes following racist violence in recent days, while many associations have urged them to stay home for their safety. Here people cheer the anti-racism march underway from their balcony

Miriam Makeba performing in various spaces in Kenya. The photographs and their corresponding articles were taken from Jet magazine’s March 1968 issue. Much gratitude to @wangamiro for sharing these gems with me ✨

"I don’t want to hear you say, 'Honey, I’m behind you.' Well, move. I don’t want you back there because you could be 200 miles behind. I want you to say, 'I’m with you.' And we’ll go up this freedom road together." - Fannie Lou Hamer, activist and humanitarian (b.1917-d.1977)

Eric Adams Locking up mentally ill people should terrify everyone ESPECIALLY at this stage in the pandemic. One of the very first things that happened on the heels of the 1918 flu pandemic was a rising hostility towards disabled people and their involuntary institutionalization

Black and Indigenous folks from Latin America are very familiar with the anti-Black, anti-Indigenous language Nury Martinez used. We aren't surprised- we hear it from politicians, media, at the grocery store, in school, for some of us, in our own families. Listen to us.

“Israel” is a fanatical settler project that was not only established through massacres but is sustained by them. Palestinians have every right to resist and defend themselves against Zionist aggression. #GazaUnderAttack

The house has three bedrooms with large windows. The living area has expansive views towards Mt Kenya and Lolomarik Ranch where it is common to see Giraffe grazing in the afternoon.

If your paper or study doesn’t include Native Americans and Alaska Natives because of insufficient data on us, say that! Put it in the limitations section. Spotlight it as an urgent need for future work. Don’t just leave us out because the system has made us invisible. – at Tucson, AZ

Pete Buttigieg, the head of the U.S Dept of Transportation recently said that if we all went out to get electric vehicles, we wouldn't be effected by historically high gas prices. But did you know this about electric cars: that they come at a very high human cost?

This Canadian mine is Vancouver-based Trevali Mining Corporation. BC is home to more mining exploration companies than anywhere else on earth, and Vancouver ("world's greenest city") is actually world's mining capital with over 800 mining companies headquartered in the city.
For 20 days, 8 African miners have been stranded more than 500 meters deep in a zinc mine operated by a Canadian company in Burkina Faso. why on earth isn’t there more outrage on this? Or is Solidarity just a privilege that remains for those who live in the west and are white 🤔

On this International Workers’ Day, for those of us in the labor movement in the US, may we reject the narrative of organizing to build the middle class and may we instead organize towards the abolition of a class-based society.
