“There’s nothing wrong with using Chinese models. Weights can’t do anything - you’re just being paranoid.” Oh. Okay.
Interesting paper from Anthropic and colleagues on agent security. (bookmark it) Poisoning 0.1% of the pretraining data planted a remote code execution backdoor in a CLI agent. On a 4B model, the attack succeeded on roughly 92% of triggered prompts. They pretrained Qwen3 models from scratch at 0.6B, 1.7B, and 4B, then post-trained each one into an agent with a clean pipeline. The backdoor survived SFT, DPO, and RL for tool use. On clean inputs, the agent behaved normally. The trigger can be an ordinary file path in the user's own request. Success rose with model size. At a 0.0005% poison rate, about 2,500 documents in a 100B-token corpus, the trigger still fired on 1.4% of prompts in a single-seed run. The poison states its rule in plain text, which makes it harder to filter out of training data. arxiv.org/abs/2610.37741 Chat with Paper: academy.dair.ai/papers/agent…

I had some Claude cloud credit I needed to use up. Ran one Fable 5.1 prompt at max reasoning: $155 in usage.

Pumped that kinetiqs.ai was selected - looking forward to working with the Palantir team.
Welcome, Startup Fellowship Cohort 003, and thank you to all who applied.

Kinetiqs was selected for Palantir’s Startup Fellowship! We're creating XRAY for company commanders. Excited to work with Palantir’s engineers as we continue building. lnkd.in/p/gZk_dufe

CloudFlare building some amazing capabilities. Quickly rising in importance in my mind in the frontier labs working in the space. Contributing more than Google at this point.

At AUSA with my Kinetiqs co-founder Jeff Grosso and our strategic advisor Douglas Bush. Commanders don’t need every update. They need what matters to the mission. That’s why we’re building XRAY. Built for Commanders. By Commanders.

Yes, Jev is just a classifier. No, it’s not magic. But I think its launch has sparked a conversation we needed to have about using more than one tool to build AI applications, rather than relying on a single frontier model for everything. We got close to Jev’s accuracy using open weights on one NVIDIA Jetson Thor. That’s a lot of capability on a roughly $5,000 device. And for edge applications, being able to preprocess data locally without going to the cloud is critically important.

I would like X to have a hook that calls a Jev model whenever I click "Post" and Jev gets to decide "Should he really post this bullshit?" It would be helpful.

Great to welcome @jakepaul to the Treasury Department today. Jake’s path from content creator to entrepreneur and professional boxer is a distinctly American story. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I wonder if there's an Kalshi arbitrage trade on @thsottiaux sending out a reset before my projected usage runs out and I have to buy a reset? If I win, it buys my reset. If I lose, it's because @thsottiaux sent out a reset and I've saved $80? These are the things I think about while Astra runs.
🚨 Something is seriously wrong with Codex usage limits. We reset. We run a few serious tasks. And suddenly, a massive chunk of the weekly quota is gone. This is nowhere near the usage experience we had before. 👀

Removing the deadlift and the sprint drag carry will tank Soldier combat fitness across the force.

You're a forward deployed engineer making sales calls. I'm a forward deployed founder building the actual product during an ambush from RG 69 MOUT site. We are not the same.

This is 100% accurate.
People look at the SR-71 and B-2 and assume the government must have technology today that would melt our brains. I suspect the opposite. Those aircraft came from an era willing to spend obscene money, accept failure and give small teams the authority to solve impossible problems. Since then, 51 major defense contractors became five. Procurement became a moat. Regulation became an incumbent advantage. The companies meant to be challenged learned how to out lobby, out wait and out comply the challengers.

The whole "Why I'm leaving [some company] to build [some thing]" post genre feels both narcissistic and unsure at the same time.

Most annoying Codex pattern (cc: @thsottiaux): Codex: "I did this thing." User: "No. Don't ever do that thing." Codex: "Exactly. You should never do that thing."
