Flyers’ rally from three-goal deficit but fall in OT: flyingfishhockey.com/2026/10…

Coach Rick Tocchet discusses Flyers’ slow start against Blue Jackets in 4-3 OT loss.

Flyers fall in OT.

Flyers tie it with 9.6 seconds to play. Drysdale with the goal.

Zegras at 15:04. In close off rebound. 3-2 Columbus.

Flyers on PP at 10:56.

3-1 Columbus after 2. The Flyers bounced back with 13 shots that period.

Cates with his first of the season at 9:59. Talbot stopped Martone shot but it trickled through his pads. Cates finished it. Now 3-1 Columbus.

Disaster of a period: Only two shots, that ties a season low. Also, Flyers have not overcome a three-goal deficit in a game since March 29, 2021 in Buffalo.

Flyers going on power play at 14:03. Their percentage is a bit up at 16.3 percent.

At 12:54, Blue Jackets make it 2-0. Werenski with left point shot. Might have been tipped. Flyers have only 2 shots in first 13 minutes. Now it's 3-0. Three goals on six shots. Mateychuk with the third goal, or so it would appear. Meanwhile, the natives are getting restless.

Jackets score first at 10:58. Fantilli gets loose in front and finishes off pass for 1-0 lead. Flyers 1-5-2 when opponent scores first.

Columbus goaltender Cam Talbot's career numbers against his old team, the Flyers, aren't too bad: 8-6-1, 2.12 GAA, .928 SP. In fact, they're rather good.

Was hoping to see ex-Flyer defenseman Ivan Provorov back here again tonight. He was always a stand-up guy while in Philly. But he's been out the last nine games with a lower-body injury and won't play tonight.

And Knuble must be doing something right because he's with Zegras-Dvorak.

Tonight's Flyers' defense pairings: Sanheim-Bonk York-Drysdale McDonald-Seeler I like keeping Bonk with Sanheim. Tocchet could have reunited the Sanheim-York tandem but I think Bonk will learn some good stuff staying with the Olympian.

The Flyers announced they have recalled forward Jacob Gaucher from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League. Additionally, defenseman Cam York has been activated off injured reserve and defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen has been placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury retroactive to Oct. 24.

Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen will miss another two weeks of action according to coach Rick Tocchet. Ristolainen returned to action last Saturday but now heads back to the sidelines again.
