Ru Callender. Undertaker, writer. Pyramid builder. No, I am not okay with death, it scares me as much as it does you. But I am compelled to do this.

Let's bring Aafia home! Her application to NY court is almost done (over 100K words), but we still need more witnesses via expensive travel to NY, Kabul, Karachi. If you're able to support this work it is much appreciated muslimgiving.org/LetsBringAa… @Aafiamovement @FowziaSiddiqui

Today @Nigel_Farage said he was mislead by Andrew Tate on the identity of the recent murder 1) A sitting MP should not rely on a famous vile misogynistic thug for their information 2) An MPs job is to fact check 3) No British MP should cosy up to Andrew Tate RT if you agree.

Our first funeral yesterday with the amazing @loopbiotech mushroom coffin. Grown, not made, by seeding waste hemp with mycelium spores. The mycelium eats the hemp, grows and solidifies in just 8 days. When buried, it helps break the body down naturally. Game changer

My brilliant wife Dr Jane Grant.
I’m delighted to share that my chapter on Sound Art is now published in The Bloomsbury Encyclopaedia of New Media Art, Volume 2: Artists and Practices. It’s an honour to be part of this exciting and extensive publication. The chapter covers my sonic artworks, sound as seduction.

The truth is the mainstream funeral industry was never really interested in the content of ceremonies, they just wanted to upsell crappy coffins. Direct cremation was the logical conclusion. And even less accountability around how they treat a body.
Cremated ashes and particularly direct crem ashes can feel strangely removed from the grieving processes. Grief needs a space and a place. The last two years have re-emphasised that for me. Here is the Bob Bench

Thought for the day - another powerful insight from radical undertaker @wayswithweirds We think the role of a good funeral director is to help people be with the reality of death, to accompany you as you step into the presence of the absence - the great mystery of death.

We hit 10,000 pledges to strike 💪 That's enough people to withhold half a million pounds from the water firms every month. It's a lot of cash – but we need this number to be way higher to seriously disrupt the industry. Help us get to 20,000 next 👉 takebackwater.uk
