Another big swing and a miss for Estes Park (0.01” recorded).
We will now not receive our first accumulating snow until November at least, a rare feat indeed.

53 degrees is the low so far today here in Estes Park.
That is… uh… 8 degrees above the average low one *normally does experience here across all of midsummer.. 😅
The entire second half of the storm (the snow half) missing us sort of counts as a rug pull in my book.
Yes we did get 0.7” of beneficial rain, mostly on Tuesday though.

Estes:
Remember to enjoy all this rain we didn’t get this week so we can steel ourselves for the upcoming 2 weeks of also not getting any rain.

🌧️ Albuquerque has picked up 4.51" of rain this month, most in just the last 14 days!
It's now the wettest September on record, the 2nd wettest month ever, and the wettest month since 1905.
This is also more than half of our average annual rainfall! #NMwx
Another thunderstorm in Estes Park on a day with a 20% or less chance (point forecast said 0% chance yesterday for what it’s worth) 😂
man i should go down to Blackhawk
“Winners and losers”
Estes loses most of the time lmao. The winner is the foothills between highway 14 and Glen Haven. Every. Single. Time.

Days like today i’m reminded why there are at least 3 types of cacti that grow locally… 😂
Yesterday was the hottest day of the week here in Estes Park and today has been the nicest day of the week. Wouldn’t have guessed that going into this week 😂
But hey day’s not over we might get a raindrop or two
There is lightning all around Estes right now holyyyyy it is insane
⚡️ #cowx 🤘 wind picking up..

🚨🏆 AN EXTRAORDINARY DAY OF HEAT across the northern Rockies and Intermountain West. A small selection of ALL-TIME records:
🥇 Salt Lake City: 109°F — new all-time record, eclipsing 107°F from 2022 (records since 1874)
🥇 Billings: 111°F — shatters the previous record of 108°F from 2002 (records since 1934)
🥇Miles City: 115°F — obliterates the old record of 111°F from 2012 (records since 1937)
🥇Sheridan: 109°F — breaks all-time record of 107°F last set in 2021 (records since 1907)
These aren’t daily records. These are the hottest temperatures ever observed at long-term climate stations.
An absolutely historic event. Just incredible. 🔥
It hasn’t rained yet in Estes this month but we’ve had pretty clouds…
Solstice sunset #cowx
So green up here in Estes one can almost forget it hasn’t rained here since 5/29… If we don’t get measurable rain later this week we’ll finish this June with nothing.

6.25” of snow the final total this morning on the west side of Estes Park near Beaver Meadows Visitor Center (~7865’). Likely a touch more when you consider melting yesterday.
