Asking "where will marketing dollars go now?" .. I feel you're missing the point.
InfoFi platforms were just MIDDLEMEN.
Projects didn't need Kaito to find good creators. They never did.
The money will go to:
- Creators who build real audiences (not point farmers)
- Community members who actually contribute (Discord mods, testers, educators)
- On-chain activity that proves engagement (testnet users, governance participants)
Honestly? This is better for quality creators. No more competing with bots gaming a points system.
Direct relationships > platform dependency.
The bigger question than what will happen to marketing dollars now that InfoFi is dead is:
What will happen to airdrops?
Most major projects allocated a large portion of their supply to supporters on socials.
This was a central distribution mechanism even for the big ones of last year, such as Berachain and Monad.
Where will tokens flow now?
More to on-chain users? Discord grinders?
Or get rid of airdrops completely in favor of ICOs, but there you have the same distribution problem.
