🧵 I don't think industry insiders realize how compromised of a position they are in....
The ones at the top are more secure than the people below them
But EVERYONE is on record over many years
Back in the dot com era, many of those people could disappear into the shadows. The internet and social media wasn't what it is now.
Pumping and dumping a fake project and then exiting carried MUCH LESS RISK +25yrs ago.
Those people were forgotten in history. Bc they weren't on record on social media shilling scams for years.
Getting this wrong in general will have catastrophic effects to peoples brand and reputation. Public figures, founders, media, influencers, etc.
You get this wrong. And its essentially over for you as a public figure.
Ontop of that, many founders will have to defend against a wave of class action lawsuits once their Ponzi inevitably explodes.
Most people are still hoping Crypto rebounds
And the market MAY rebound and we MAY get one last altcoin bull market
BUT THINK ABOUT HOW DELUSIONAL THIS IS....
People expect this to go to mass adoption, BUT THEY CAN'T EXPLAIN HOW THIS TECH SOLVES ANY PROBLEMS!!!! They just repeat talking points like "payments, tokenization, etc."
But they cant actually EXPLAIN anything. And they DEFINITELY cant handle the most basic critiques.
You don't need 100 networks for payments and tokenization. You don't need 50. You really don't even need 10. And the ones you DO need should be able to solve for alllll the other core problems to make "payments and tokenization" possible at scale.
Again this will NEVER go to mass adoption with the current security paradigm. People will not risk their net worth in digital assets if they cant be kept secure.
But what does the industry do? Ignore the CURRENT AI security problem. And act like they are solving for quantum security. When AI security was never even remotely achieved.
Crypto bros are really the dumbest people online.
They believe things WITH NO EVIDENCE. As long as a narrative is repeated enough times by enough people. They accept it as truth.
Its fitting that the next era is AI taking over everything. Bc if the last 5-6yrs has shown me anything, its that humans have become too corrupt and stupid to be in charge.
In 2026 you are already better off asking a LLM for information than asking a human being.

Pakistan wants AI infrastructure it can control.
Its Digital Authority is discussing a sovereign AI Factory with DFINITY, using ICP-based cloud infrastructure to build government software.
Here's the bigger opportunity for $ICP.
Governments increasingly want AI without surrendering control of their data and infrastructure to foreign cloud providers.
But the real victory won't be another agreement. It'll be government applications running in production.

November is around the corner and price aside…
After the #AI Dubai showcase things are exploding again except this time we’re aiming for millions of transactions 👌👀

🔴 If there was no vetting process
Events like Davos would be filled with +95% scammers who bought booths and stage time to shill their scams
For bigger important events, THERE IS 100% A VETTING PROCESS BEFORE YOU CAN SPEAK ON STAGE
Davos itself is an invite-only event
Given it's filled with heads of state, high level government officials, and corporate execs.
Many other IMPORTANT EVENTS work similarly to Davos
L1 founders are mostly NOT INVITED TO PRESENT because L1s SOLVE NO PROBLEMS and have nothing to do with AI
They DO SPEAK at "Crypto specific" events - which no one outside of Crypto pays attention to
They also pay for their boots and stage time. And oftentimes they pay alot of money.
L1 founders will never be invited to present at serious conferences bc they are not serious people. And L1s solve no problems.
You can't sell fake AI narratives to people who know better... The L1 delusion ends on Crypto Twitter.
**Also as it stands right now. It looks like Dfinity/ICP will have its own "Sovereign Cloud" event at Davos 2027....
Which again is an invite-only conference.

Tomorrow, Dominic Williams (@dominic_w) will present “Sovereign cloud for the AI era” at @DubaiAIFest on 27 October 2026, 3:10 pm GST (12:10 pm CET) on the Innovation Stage.
With Open Cloud, you create a cloud engine from nodes you choose by operator, country, datacenter, and hardware class. The Internet Computer combines them into one platform that keeps running when some nodes fail.
Choose where your cloud runs: opencloud dot org

🔴 Interesting developments
Long time a16z Crypto partner @alive_ announces his departure as a16z drops "crypto" from their name and branding
He was one of the main figures with their Crypto firm. From my understanding he was involved when they invested in ICP years ago (so credit for that)
BUT he has ALSO been a huge Solana shill in recent years. When I tried to point out that Ali and his colleagues were misleading the public. He blocked me.
Unfortunately for him I will follow all @a16zfrontier partners for minimally the next 5-10yrs.
And every network they promoted that goes to zero, I will cover.
People will not be able to quietly slide into the background as the shitshow they helped build inevitably implodes.
We are in a zero accountability environment and that has led to one of the greatest financial crimes in world history.
The history of this space will not be rewritten.
But the fact that this happened at the same time where a16z distances themselves from the "Crypto" branding is worth noting imo.
If the people who built this "industry" are starting to distance themselves. And investment capital is drying up (and it is and has been over the years) - that shows how little confidence insiders and institutional investors have in the current state of "Crypto"

🔴 "Crypto" has become a stain on civilization. And now @a16zfrontier removed Crypto from their name/branding
Unfortunately (for them and others) there WILL BE an accurate accounting of history in this space after all this plays out. I already appointed myself lead historian and I've been compiling receipts for years.
I addressed them directly with the core issues. And they all blocked me outside of Dixon.
I can almost guarantee industry insider's plan was to pretend the last +6yrs never happened once this moves forward.
Remember they heavily promoted LayerZero RIGHT BEFORE the massive exploit. Which crippled Ethereum defi.
At some point the brand liability becomes too much and institutions will have to distance themselves.
Lol I saw people asking "what do we call it now" and the answer is NOTHING bc its not going to be here in the future.
People in this space SHOULD take this as a major warning sign. But of course they say "this is actually good... it means we are winning!" ...... 🤡
No it likely means the financiers who funded most of this space want to distance themselves bc its 99.99% scamming and fraud
And to whatever degree they could be deemed liable in the future after this massive ponzi finally implodes. Given they promoted so many networks. And put out "research papers" that were VERY MISLEADING, which I covered a year or so ago.
But generally this is a good sign imo. Just not for the reasons people think. This isn't a sign of maturity. Its a sign of a sinking ship.

I see internet-computer:native actually as a great alternative.
AI will benefit with bittensor:native & near:native

DFINITY's Dominic Williams now says NEAR took its tech.
His claim? NEAR's Chain Signatures run on a DFINITY cryptography design licensed exclusively to $ICP, and NEAR is quietly swapping it out.
He says it carries "civil and criminal legal implications." No lawsuit filed. No reply from $NEAR yet.
Yesterday it was snake oil.
Today it's stolen snake oil.

🚨DFINITY FOUNDER ALLEGES NEAR INTENTS STOLE PROPRIETARY CHAIN KEY TECH!
DFINITY founder @dominic_w claims a key component of NEAR Intents relies on proprietary DFINITY threshold ECDSA (Chain Key) cryptography, licensed only for the Internet Computer.
This follows his post yesterday questioning NEAR’s Confidential Intents, which he said runs on a separate permissioned chain with no real cryptography behind the privacy claims.
He points to a 2022 DFINITY paper, GitHub activity showing NEAR attempting an emergency downgrade after ~2.5 years, and the involvement of a former DFINITY employee fired in 2021.
Williams says the system is not decentralized and flags legal implications.
