there's a small detail in @0xhazels staking that i nearly missed.
you can stake your NFT without locking it anywhere.
no gas. no transfer. it stays in your wallet.
sounds pretty flexible, right?
well, here's where it gets interesting.
list that same NFT on OpenSea and your stake ends within roughly 10 minutes.
it doesn't even have to sell.
and the sYOURAI you've accumulated for staying staked? gone. the record resets.
which means owning the NFT and maintaining your position in the ecosystem aren't exactly the same thing.
i get the logic.
if the system is supposed to recognize long-term participation, then someone actively trying to sell shouldn't necessarily receive the same recognition as someone who keeps their stake active.
but there's a tradeoff here.
you retain custody of the asset, while your participation record depends on what you choose to do with it.
the NFT stays yours.
the time you've accumulated doesn't.
that's a much more interesting staking mechanic to me than another APY dashboard.

the interesting part of the @0xhazels floor isn't the number.
it's what the market is being asked to price.
because a Hazels NFT isn't being positioned as just collectible art.
holding one can plug you into several parts of the ecosystem:
→ soft staking without transferring the NFT

→ access tied to the Hazels ecosystem

that changes how I look at the floor.
you're not only asking:
“is the artwork worth this much?”
