It’s both funny and sad seeing people discover that artists who’ve been in the industry for years (and have a big platform) charge a lot for coms. Because instead of just minding their business they began to relentlessly bully said artists out of pure jealousy and spite

Hey so, no this isn't a joke. No this isn't surprising.
This person has been making incredible pieces of art since well before AI existed, more than that they literally have concept art that is absolutely at industry standard quality on their portfolio.
As someone that's been in the art community and industry for decades now, this is NORMAL pricing once you get past the base indie standards. When you start getting known, getting a name, getting an audience, this is normal.
If you're mocking it, if you're aggressive about it, you're not the commissioner type this artist is going for. High prices not only shows that they know their own worth for their time and skill (including the years it took to hone their skill), they're cultivating their commissioners too in a way.
Now if this person showed up, out of the blue, nobody knowing them, charging this price, yeah I'd be confused. But they didn't. This is just the first time YOU'RE seeing them.

y'know, I think a lot of discourse around "writing advice" is rooted in internet virality culture.
"I'm begging fic authors to give up italics" (or whatever) is not writing advice. But it makes for a quick and snappy tweet that will be shared many times or incite discussion +
I am genuinely losing my mind. You don’t have to like or read lapslock, but it’s not bad grammar. It’s not a mistake someone didn’t bother to correct. It’s a stylistic choice that is usually tagged accordingly
People discussing whether lack of capital letters makes sense or not drives me insane. Lapslock has been used in fanfiction for YEARS. It’s a part of it’s culture. It doesn’t have to make sense or follow the rules of trad publishing because it’s a separate type of media
