#WickedForGood is aiming for a record-breaking debut of $150 million to $180 million at the box office.
Any tally north of $162 million will beat "A Minecraft Movie" to become the biggest opening of 2025 so far. Regardless, the musical sequel is primed to shatter the debut of last year's "Wicked" ($112.5M) and set a new record for stage-to-screen adaptations.

Jon M. Chu's #WickedForGood is an emotionally charged, grand & epic hypnotic that beautifully bids adieu to Universal's Wickedly Wonderful Two-Part Oz event through an audacious crowd pleasing experience that shines loud & proud on the big screen.
When Ariana Grande said she was going to take such good care of Glinda, she meant it. And it's that same care, equally complimented by Cynthia Erivo's embodiment of Elphaba, that's tucked into two showstopping, tear jerking & vocally astonishing performances which will undoubtedly put both into serious awards consideration - again.
It's lightning in a bottle, captured twice - from every involved department & the end result is something bigger & braver with just as much magic & flavour - I LOVED it.

Though the second act of Wicked has always been its weaker half, #WickedForGood transforms it into a richer, more mature film surpassing Part 1. While Ariana Grande should win the Oscar without a doubt, it's Cynthia Erivo’s “No Good Deed” truly makes her fly and steals the sky.

Ariana Grande deepens her Glinda. Still radiant, still funny, but finally the girl in the bubble has grown up. Her portrayal of grief and letting go feels deeply personal, as if she’s saying goodbye herself. A full-circle performance that truly deserves the Oscar. #WickedForGood

Saw #WickedForGood last night and opted not to react right away because I was kind of overwhelmed. Given how much I love the musical and the first film, I knew seeing the back half of the story come to life via movie magic was going to be an emotional experience, but I don’t think I was prepared for how much this part of the story was going to rock me on screen.

Jon M. Chu’s #WickedForGood roars with energy and emotion — a tremendous sequel that is deep, dark and very different from part one, yet also a brilliant counterpart to it. The new music holds strong, the “For Good” sequence is everything and fans are gonna devour it all.
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande both shine, with Grande delivering an especially powerful performance as Glinda confronts who she truly wants to be and what she stands for.
Every lyric lands, every beat matters. It moves fast and it leaves its mark. This is what a sequel should be: bigger, braver and unforgettable.

Wicked For Good can be summed up in one word: EPIC.
Jon M. Chu has done the impossible and turned the beloved stage musical into a cinematic experience that is somehow manages to be even better than the stage version.
Ariana Grande-Butera is definitely coming for that Best Supporting Actress Oscar and don’t be surprised if this second half ends up getting just as many nominations, if not even more than the first one.
Audiences will be talking about these two films for decades to come.
Wicked For Good is an emotionally charged masterpiece and the best film of the year!

WICKED: FOR GOOD is a sisterhood rebellion, w/ a score that questions whether goodness lies in the norm or in disruption. Ariana Grande brings cunning to Glinda; Cynthia Erivo, soul power to Elphaba. An iconic duo fighting to save Oz with majestic performances. A glorious Act II.

Wicked: For Good is everything we've waited for this entire year. What we thought we knew about The Wizard of Oz will be explained and make you rethink the story you have loved since childhood. My heart is complete. @wickedmovie

Thank goodness! As a longtime fan of the stage musical, WICKED: FOR GOOD is nearly everything I could’ve hoped for in a cinematic adaptation of Act II. You can feel Jon M. Chu’s passion radiate throughout, as the gorgeous costumes, highly detailed makeup, and fantastical production design are, once again, nothing short of dazzling. The second half of the story is more somber than the first, but that tonal shift gives Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande-Butera the space to deliver their most powerful and emotionally resonant work of the two films, especially in the moving climax. While this second half may not fly as high on its own as the first (some will undoubtedly favor that one for its brighter energy and more iconic songs), taken together, I couldn’t be happier.

Some other @wickedmovie thoughts: @jonmchu did a fantastic job at both expanding and reeling in the Universe that pays homage to the stage musical and let’s it soar on it own. Cynthia’s No Good Deed was everything and Ariana Grande stole the film with a breathtaking portrayal
