El-Sayed supporter Duane Gholston says he didn’t realize he convinced his dad, Mike Britt, to vote for Abdul until he came across my interview with him from last week. “He’s a blue collar, blue dog Democrat who hasn’t been a superfan of the party in recent years…”
Garbage truck driver Mike Britt says he wasn’t sure about Abdul El-Sayed until his 32-year-old son started promoting his campaign, he tells me while parked outside of an Abdul El-Sayed event in Detroit. The Hasan Piker ads made him pause, but he’ll vote for the Democrat, he says.

SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. “Elon Musk approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink in Ukraine, The Telegraph can reveal. The billionaire tech entrepreneur approached the US president with the proposal to introduce speed limits on the system, which hampered Ukraine’s drone defences, according to four sources familiar with the discussions. One of the sources said Mr Trump “agreed” with Mr Musk’s suggestion, paving the way for the Pentagon to execute the slowdown on Starshield, the military-grade version of the satellite communications system.

Got a lot of texts last night from pissed off GOP operatives on this story... "We are out here fighting for our lives and these dudes are in some random ass country made up of too many consonants no one has ever heard of taking hundreds of thousands of dollars while telling all of us to chill out because they’ve got it," one told me. Trump world is pushing back on their pushback — saying Blair is "working quite literally around the clock on races." w/ @wsteaks in today's @playbookdc

Extraordinary account from Bloomberg of what it now takes to move oil through Hormuz. One tanker captain describes sailing at night with no navigational lights, phones or AIS, hugging the Omani coast under U.S. military protection, and maneuvering around a vessel that had just been attacked. His own ship was later targeted. The risks are so high that crews are being paid multiples of their normal salaries, with one shipowner reportedly offering six months of extra pay for Hormuz shuttle duty. More oil may be getting through, but at very high risk and cost. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
