We simply have to stop appointing bishops whose ability to manage exceeds their desire to. The Francis Papacy in particular has been dominated by choices of bishops who are perfect reflections of the failed 1980s version of American Catholicism. There is not one intelligent person who would spend time in any Diocese, look over the landscape and think to themselves “You know what we really need to do? Ban the Saint Michael prayer after mass.” Final note on this topic: Not two months ago a left-wing publication put out an article about why we shouldn’t pray that Saint Michael prayer after mass. If you do not think this is a coordinated effort, you haven’t been paying attention.
