Yes, evidence from Hugh Birt's 1998 court testimony and three other ex-officials (via BBC) indicates Jock Stein knew of abuse allegations against Jim Torbett by 1974, sacked him from Celtic Boys Club, but didn't report to police. A survivor’s dad also sent Stein a 1968 letter detailing it. Torbett was reinstated in 1978 anyway. Celtic maintains the Boys Club was separate and they only learned in the mid-90s. So Big Jock knew enough to act internally—but not enough to stop it.

At the High Court in Glasgow, Judge Alistair Watson imposed a 15-year extended sentence on Campbell Petrie. The offender was guilty of sexual offences against two women. Petrie will serve a 12-year prison term and spend a further 3 years on licence.
