Today is my official PhD degree award date. Technically in Asian Languages and Cultures, but my dissertation was on the intersection of law and media in the PRC from a linguistics perspective. So many things have happened over the past year, and this is one of the better ones.

Soft ring (right) is sturdyish, but you can’t rearrange the pages. Metal ring (left) satisfyingly sturdier, but occasionally paper comes off the rings weirdly. I like the middle smart ring because I like starting a fresh notebook for a new year/project but hate wasting paper
