I’m incredibly proud of my new video! A cheeky review of the 1982 d&d propaganda film Mazes & Monsters. Hope you enjoy! I Watched the Worst D&D Movie Ever Made youtu.be/nHS4fXCCTws

My favorite d&d character I ever played was a Bugbear bear totem barbarian named Bug who believed he was a real bear. Anywhere we went, people would stare because he was a bugbear, but he assumed it was because they saw him as a bear.

So I would have him always say, in his thick Russian accent, "Yes, I am bear. But is okay. I will not harm you. I am gentle bear." Sadly it was only a one-shot, but I think about Bug all the time.

What I've learned in six months as a D&D YouTuber 1. I have little idea what videos are going to "hit." Content I think is awesome sinks to the bottom and random stuff goes viral. 90% of my channel views come from about 10% of my videos. I dunno, I just work here.

2.The magic happens in the edit, not the recording. 3.Most people in the comments are very kind, supportive, and fun. But a small percentage are complete and total pedantic asshats. I realize that percentage would be a lot higher if I were female or a person of color.

8. Somewhere out there is a sweet spot between videos I want to make and videos people want to watch. I feel like I’m getting closer with every release.

6. Patience is a virtue because it’s incredibly hard to come by. Seeing my subscriber numbers slowly tick up can be maddening sometimes. 7.The D&D YouTuber creator community is filled with awesome people. The few I’ve made contact with so far are rad.

5. Good lighting, video quality, and sound are important, but content is what matters most. Pretty garbage is still garbage.

4.Eye contact is critical. In my early videos I looked down at a script often, and those videos are painful to watch now. A $60 teleprompter made a huge difference.
