Feeling a bit ingroupy these days? A little open to extreme punishments for certain crimes? Sibling incest lost its charm? Maybe living near family (or seeing them at the holidays) is shaping your psychology. New paper on the ecology of relatedness:

Once more to get the word out - applying to grad school and interested in the psychology of infection, both how people avoid it and what happens if they get sick? What about evolutionary/ecological perspectives on social psych? Come join our lab at Michigan!

🚨New pub now at JEPG🚨:
What do you do when someone you care about does something really morally bad? Do you choose loyalty to them or lawfulness to society?
The answer might depend on your culture.
We tested this across 4 studies in the US and Japan:

Interested in writing an NSF Postdoc submission on FRIENDSHIP to work with me at UCLA?
Let's talk!
UCLA is a GREAT place to study friendship! (Check out the new center: center-for-friendship.com/)
NSF due Nov 6: new.nsf.gov/funding/opportun….
Now out at PSPB: we (@NVossoughi, @NourKteily, & Arnold Ho) examined predictors + intergroup implications of Asian-White multiracial solidarity with their respective parent groups.
A🧵on some main findings:

Second, our main findings add to the growing literature on intraminority intergroup relations between multiracial-monoracial groups. We show that meta-perceptions of “who you stand with” appear to be an important (and somewhat malleable) judgment undergirding such relations.

In this new paper, co-authored with Mathias Schmitz and @MarineRougier, we present the Brief Reverse Correlation. This improved version of the tool aims at measuring visual representations of social groups but opens the way to using individual images !!! @JeremyCone2 @easpinfo
